More on fashion

I think I've come further in my opinion of fashion as basic evil. It is nihilism at its worst. Fashion is the valuing of one arbitrariness over another for no reason other than it is fashionable to do so. Why the fuck should I care about the aesthetics prescribed by the present age? Historically, art has been a signifier of a time. It isn't timeless.. maybe the practice of it and the appreciation, but the style of art and the subject matter are mostly era, social, and crisis specific. I am not an advocator of extreme fashion judgement, but objectively, you can't make the claim that fashion cannot be compared to art because both reflect the time in which they were made, most appreciated, and other trivial blahblah.
People choose their fashion and so therefor it inherently does reflect something about them.
I don't care for the assholes you're describing... but what would the world be like if we all had the same belt, same shirt, same pants, same shoes. It would be boring but hmm.. maybe peaceful? Why don't you wear a rope, it could keep your pants up just as well, or a toga or a jesus robe? all are fairly similar in practicality though era specific...
