Festivities Ahoy!
Hey there. Some of you may or may not know about this already, but I am having a dinner party on Thursday. I'm going to pretend to be a real grownup, so it will involve cleaning up my apartment as well as cooking lots of things.
In honor of Marla being at my house for almost 12 hours, it's going to be Thursday (doors at 7, dinner at or around 8). You should all come. It'll be NEATO. Here's what I'm planning to serve:
-Chicken (I bought a whole one! I shall BAKE it! Huzzah!)
-(s)Mashed Potatoes
-banana bread, chocolate-chip cookies, and/or brownies (depending on how much baking I can get done before then)
If you are coming, please leave a comment here. Melissa has already offered to bring a side dish, so if you want to be cool like her, tell us what you're bringing so we can get our anticipation on. This could be a lot more interesting, but I've got a lot to do today. I'll close with two pieces of good news for me "professionally":
1. This morning I was called directly by one of the high schools and asked to come sub tomorrow because I did such a good job last time. This has never happened to me before. I am stoked.
2. This afternoon I interviewed for a waitressing job at Mitchell's (yes, this is why the "professionally" is in quotes), and it went really well (thanks to Jorr for giving the manager a heads up, too); I've got a followup interview on Wednesday.
So on the one hand, someone knows who I am and that I am good at classroom management, at least, at one of my local high schools. And on the other, soon I may be able to have spending money again! Woohoo!
