I went to the dentist yesterday.... ^_^ I've always enjoyed going to the dentist - you usually get free things like stickers or something (this time I got a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss!). The last time I went to the dentist was BEFORE I moved to Savannah - so more than 4 years!!! You might ask yourself, "Why, if she likes going to the dentist, did she not go in the past four years?!"... well, I didn't have insurance and couldn't afford to go, so there. :P Anyway... I was a bit nervous (for the first time) just since it had been so long and who knows what could be going on in teeth land. However, I am VERY pleased to report that I have no cavities and my teeth look just fine! So, for the record, I have never had a cavity in my life. And for those of you that know (mainly Kate and Andrew), that one molar that's "screwed up" is just what Dr. Yawger said (yay!) - the enamal just never fully developed so it only looks bad; and yes, it will be more prone to decay, but it's perfectly fine right now. Woot! As for my jaw... apparently there's nothing "wrong" with it but since I do clentch my teeth at night (and other times) it's making my jaw muscles fatigued which is causing the pain. So, he suggested I get fitted for a "night guard" (it can be worn at other times, it's just the name of it). That is supposed to prevent me from FULLY clentching since it's like a retainer (the new kind that are clear and fit fully over your teeth) that has an extra layer (about 3mm thick) on the bottom (or top for a bottom retainer) so that the jaw can't completely close and therefore let the muscles get some much needed rest.
