Natural Disaster
Is it bad that with each hurricane that wells up, I secretly hope it's going to vacuum out the whole Southern US?
Lately I've become more and more hopeful that some massive natural disaster, or perhaps a chain of natural disasters, will destroy the disgustingness that is our culture. Or at least cripple the infrastructure so that we have to rethink the way we do things.
Ok, I'll admit it. I watched the Blue Planet DVDs again the other night. The last one- where they talk about what we're supposed to do to "save the planet" and how it's basically hopeless at this point because everyone wants to drive their own car and who cares if we have to drill the ocean dry to get the oil, etc. We (Americans) can't go around telling other countries that they can't have what we have... but if they all grow and end up living the same way we do, the planet will go to shit sooner than we think.
I don't know what the solution is. So that's why I'm relying on nature to kick some ass.
