i don't know if you've seen it yet or not, but i would highly recommend the last kiss as a movie that's good enough to make you cry. by far one of the best movies i've seen recently.

Pay It Forward always brought tears to my eyes

Try "Nowhere in Africa" ("Nirgendwo in Afrika" in German) about a family that flees Germany for Kenya during WW II. Also "Off the Map", about an unorthodox New Mexico family. I'll think on this; I've seen some great films I should probably also be recommending.
