no, don't get worried, this isn't a scene from a french porno film, its the eiffel tower taken from directly underneath the shaft...

Yeah, it may not be porno, but you said SHAFT! :D

I love these pictures. I never get tired of seeing the gargoyles and the skyline of Paris, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, the Seine, ahhhhh, Paris, she is so beautiful! When I was there it was gray as well. But it's a magic place. Sort of dirty and filled with diesel fumes, but magic and lovely.

I admit to never reading your Paris posts, but I got the gist that you got very sick. Sounds horrible! But what memories. Er, photos. And hey, I didn't know there was a staircase in the Arc de Triomphe. Go figure.

I want to know about your visit to Table 1280, and did you get a babysitter or what?

Hail Santa, I logged off relatively early last night 'cause no one was online, well, no one but YOU! And you were busy posting pictures. Really nice pictures. The symmetrical one, and the gargoyle one, those are my favorites I think, but I wish you didn't have the time stamp on them. I wonder if there is a way to PhotoShop that out if you really wanted to.

paris summed up quickly - its true that i got really really sick, but on the other hand i hitchhiked, one of the things i never thought i'd do in my life, so that was pretty great...and sickness aside we went to about 10 different museums - new years was spent on a wintery bridge, seeing the eiffel tower lit up to our left, fireworks emanating from the place de la concorde to our right, the bells of notre dame behind us, the seine flowing underneath us, and shouts of "bon annee!" from everywhere inbetween...

yeah, you can go to the top of the arc de triomphe, which gives you a pretty decent view of the city - i almost posted my picture of the champs-elysees from the top, which is all lit up at christmas time and my camera has its nighttime filter broken so its just a crazy mess of light...hey, it really is the city of light!

A has daycare on monday, wednesday, and friday, and since S and i both had friday off we decided to let her stay in daycare for the day so we could do something for ourselves - table 1280 is a place probably best experienced at dinner, and there were imperfections with a few of the things we ordered, but i really liked it - with a slight exception of the prado in madrid, its the best food i've ever eaten at a museum (and i've eaten at a lot of them)...

i HATED those stamps on my camera when i got it, but i've grown accustomed to them now...a perfect picture marred by some stupid little thing - all too appropriate for someone like me...

Well, best food at a museum is saying something, I guess. I remember when the High was new, and I used to go to the Charter Member parties, food everywhere! Those were the days.

Sounds like Paris was memorable. :)
