30-Day Meme - Days 18, 19 and 20
1. We had such a lovely time at the casino. The food was delicious, the room was excellent, and the casino itself was pretty fun. We didn't win big, but neither did we expect to do so, which made it all the nicer. The only thing I disliked was the smoke, and that wore off quick enough after we left as Saturday progressed. We may do it again next year.
2. So apparently, last Friday, four people in IT walked off the job. I'm telling you, it's not just me who gets boned by this place on a daily basis. One of them was the guy who helped us best, so we're feeling the loss already. No one's quite sure what went down, but it wasn't pretty, and the resulting chaos is going to be a nightmare.
3. I'm forgetting a boatload of things, but am failing at remembering today, so here, have three days' worth of meme:
Day 18 - Your Favorite Birthday
I am notorious within my family for so often forgetting my own birthday, both when it is and what was done for it. The only one I really remember is my 29th, because that was my golden birthday, and I'd been waiting for it to come since I was a kid. For those of you who've never heard of such a thing, your golden birthday is when you turn the same age as the day of your birth. If you were born on January 11, then your golden birthday was the year you turned 11.
It was a big deal when I was kid, because everyone I knew was having their "golden" birthday, and mine wasn't going to be until I was 29 years old! That was a lifetime away when I was 7 and 8 and 9 and 10. But it finally came, and everyone made a big deal out of it for me, and it was really sweet. ;)
Day 19 - Something You Regret
I don't generally regret things; if I make mistakes, I try to learn from them and move on. I just don't see the point in dwelling on what might have been when I have this whole life waiting to be lived right in front of me.
Day 20 - This Month
This month. Jesus. It's flying by, and much of it is good, but some is awful. OK, only the work portion of it is awful, but that's becoming the norm, unfortunately. And it's been busy, too; lots of things happen around this time of year for us, and it feels like it's constant GOGOGOGOGO for our household. I can hardly wait for it to settle down.
