More answers to meme questions.

wandaxmaximoff gave me some topics to elaborate on; I've done so and here they are. ;)

1. What was it about Heroes that drew you into the show? What elements of it do you still love? What do you now hate? (yes, that is one question *snerk*)

It was the initial advertising for the show before the pilot even aired that drew me in; I was so intrigued by the idea that everyday, ordinary people might have some higher abilities, and by the way some might use their abilities for good, others for evil.

I still love the storylines, and I love more that they’re moving back away from that second season when it was all “kissy-kissy-smoochy-smoochy-oh-I-love-you-so” stuff. I like that they’ve gone back and forth with their villains, especially with Sylar - being evil, then leaning toward being heroic, and now back to the other extreme. And I love that Peter isn’t so much the whiny, emo kid he was - I love how he’s learning to do what he believes is right, and to stand up for himself.

I hate that Nathan is gone! I was so upset with that. I hate that Matt Parkman has that precognition thing now, the “painting the future” ability. I think it was a really lame jump, and they didn’t even explain how it came about.

2. Like the elephant, is there any reason behind the butterflies in your profile picture?

*shrugs* Same reason for the elephant, really…I like butterflies. They don’t start out beautiful, do they? They’re unattractive, chubby grubs who go through these incredible transformations and become fairy-light, darting in and out among God’s beauty all day.

3. Ignoring any Sorting Hat quizzes you might have taken in the past, what Hogwarts house do you think you should be in/ would like to be in?

Should be in? Hufflepuff. I can be ambitious, I can be smart, I can be brave - but none of those things stands out enough that I would fit into one of those other houses. I tend to think of myself as more of an all-around person. I’d love to be in Gryffindor, but that’s more because Harry and the Weasleys are there…although I’d love a little more courage than I currently possess. ;)

4. Where is the quote "from there to here from here to there funny things are everywhere" - that appears in your profile pic - originally from? And why did you choose it for your profile?

If you have a copy of One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss, open it up. On the bottom left hand corner of one of the very first pages - not of the story itself, but the leading pages before the story begins - is that little guy and that little poem. I love humor, I love funny things, I love making people laugh. You can find humor almost anywhere if you look at it with an open mind and an open heart.

If I ever get up the guts to get a tattoo, that little guy and that little poem are exactly what I’ll get. And I’ll never regret it.

5. What styles of music/ specific songs do you find especially uplifting/ inspiring? AKA What song could you listen to at any time, and it'd make you happy/ feel good?

I generally tend to prefer pop and rock, but I’ll listen to - and enjoy - just about anything. It really depends on the piece of music, the artist, the arrangement, etc. Specific songs that I always love to hear…well, that’s difficult to narrow down. They change often, but for now, I’d say one of the top ones is Little Wonders, by Rob Thomas. You can find it on the Meet the Robinsons soundtrack. I also love The Call by Regina Spektor, from the Prince Caspian soundtrack. Love Like This by Natasha Bedingfield, featuring Sean Kingston. Unwritten, also by Natasha Bedingfield. I’m Yours by Jason Mraz. Ever, Ever After by Carrie Underwood, and That's How You Know by Amy Adams, both from the Enchanted soundtrack. Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk.

Edging into classical, I love Jupiter from Holst’s Planets suite. Sleepers Awake, Bach. From the New World, Dvorak. Firebird, Stravinsky. Piano Concerto No.2, Allegro, Opus 102, Shostakovich. More recent stuff that I would still probably classify as “classical” would include Rhapsody In Blue and I’ve Got Rhythm, both by Gershwin (though I couldn’t tell you WHICH Gershwin, sadly*), and just about anything composed by Aaron Copeland.

Kid’s songs! Oh, man - those are SO great when you need a boost. My iPod is absolutely littered with them. My Heart Does a Little Dance, Joanie Bartels. No Good Toys by Stevesongs. Quidditch Ball Wizard and Harry’s Wand by Steve Goodie. Most stuff by Joe McDermott, and Justin Roberts. Edna the Elephant, by Seth Decker & The Missing Piece. Be Like You, by The Asylum Street Spankers. Basically most of the stuff they play on XMKids…it’s fun, bouncy, and often very amusing. XD.

What can I say? Music moves me.

Come on, more! XD.

* OK, I couldn't stand not knowing so I looked it up. George Gershwin composed both, and Ira Gershwin wrote the lyrics for I've Got Rhythm. ;)

music, animals, harry potter, highly amusing, kiss the cook, heroes
