So I agreed to go to my college reunion this weekend because it's also my sorority's 25th anniversary celebration. I'll be driving up with one of my long lost sorority sisters, and staying with her and one other sister in a DORM for 2 nights. It's also a big Greek organization reunion, with TONS of people who were in one of the sororities or fraternities coming. Now I'm sorta wishing I hadn't. I'm sure it'll be fun, but honestly there are some folks I'd just rather never see again...but hopefully they won't remember who the hell I am. I mean...I think I look (and ABSOLUTELY AM) very different than who and what I was then...I'm actually hoping this week goes by slow because I'm suddenly feeling very inadequate and like I got invited to a party where I won't fit in and no one will talk to me. I'm a successful 45 year old who has fought and won several tough battles and kept smiling through it all DAMMIT - but it's overwhelming this feeling I'm fighting. =/ I'm going to see if I can talk the woman I'm carpooling with into only staying one night, I don't care how late I get home Saturday...we'll see. She's as uptight about this as I am, so maybe.
Kelsey got a job interview - at the New England Aquarium. It's a volunteer position, but she had tried before and never heard back, and this time she wrote up a great essay, in part talking about her experience at The Living Seas in Disney where she went SCUBA diving with the fish, and she heard back in 12 hours. She wants to be a dive master assistant - she can't actually dive because she needs 15 open water dives under her belt other than the 4 in her certification - and she only has the Disney one (which does count). I am SO hoping this comes through for her...
Tyler used his graduation money yesterday to buy a laptop - and it's a kick ass laptop. IBuyPower Valkyrie - doesn't it just sound nasty? LOL - gaming laptop - so he's leaving his desktop behind and that means I can maybe play some of these awesome games that my poor PC won't play. =P
Next Tuesday is Becker Orientation. This summer is flying by. *sigh*
