Hoping to be directed to some boots

Oct 13, 2008 13:32

I am really into sweet right now, but I don't want anything too detailed. Maybe a little more classic? Something that I can wear outside of lolita and it not look utterly ridiculous, but will look appropriate with my frills. I also want them to not be too bulky so that I could wear them under loose pants.

The purchase that is spurring this one is that my boyfriend bought this coat for me and thinks I need cute boots to match it (and who am I to refuse being adorable? X3).

Colors that would be okay range from stark white to chocolate brown. (no black, pink, red, blue, etc)
I'm hoping to find some that are knee-high with probably one material making up the shoe (simpler to clean that way and just plain simpler looking, but I'm open to others!)
I intend to have them a while and wear them a lot, so pricey is a-ok, because I want high quality! I'm naturally frugal, so if I can get good quality at lower prices, of course that's my preference.

These at Innocent World look alright, but I think I want something that isn't so flat. I'm short and pretty much always lean towards platforms and heels.

I have a large calf, so I need the seller to be willing to measure everything for me.
In fact, custom shoes wouldn't be a bad option either! (but I haven't the foggiest idea how to go about that)

If there are some in-expensively enough, I might get a warm and a not-so-warm pair, but I'm assuming I can only purchase one so generally I'm thinking I want to stay away from fur-lined or anything of that nature. (I live in Georgia, it's hot here!)

I've trudged through a number of brand sites (BTSSB - but there were no boots there? what am I doing wrong?, AP, IW, MM, VM) and a number of the off-brand (montreal and secret shop, generally) carriers listed via the ling lam boycott post and memories.

List of the couple dozen 'not quite right' links:
Lolita Baby Angel - Not high enough
Demonia- Something about the way the heel is done (from this ebay auction)
Secret Shop - Maybe these are what I want? (available via shopping services - here and here for my future reference)
RTBU - wrinkle super easily? Also not knee high
Minky Shop - Except for the FUGLY velvet detail that will just get dingy and awful! (did I see someone on the sales comm that I could order these through?)
Funky Little Shop - wrinkle and not knee high
Funky Little Shop - cork bottoms are ugly and cork! :(
Innocent World - hmmm, maybe these could be what i want (mentioned above) Also, I wonder if that bow is removeable?
Zappos - http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/44919106/c/115251.html
Zappos - http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/42772666/c/18.html
Kera - Look a little too cyber for me I think.
Demonia (I should look for other suppliers, these are super expensive and have a frustrating frame-based website) - black and not high enough "Bear 202", I guess it's the suede I don't care for? but this is a browner brown "Electra 2036",
Cosworks - I like the platform on these, but not the suede lacing I think.
Bebe (via eBay)  - Maybe better if they weren't patent?
Some trendy boots (via eBay) - Those buckles need to be less obtrusive.
More trends (via eBay) - Laces instead of velcro(?) and change out the quilted fabric for some real shoe material.
Trend (via eBay) - I like the faux spat kinda thing, but maybe not for this?
Trendy-ness (via eBay) - Maybe too simple
Baby Phat (via eBay) - I like these a lot more than I feel like I should.
Montreals (need to find someone besides Ling Lam for these particular styles) - Pretty simple and versitle, different heel but more of the same, is too short and I am sad about this

Oh, and for you lolis, should this be on the main comm or comm_sales? I wouldn't mind people's personal sales but I also want people to send me to things besides their beat up secret shops. ;D
