Last weekend I went to a Lego store. Something about it was different. It seemed like there weren't as many sets as usual. They had enough to fill the shelves, but only by repetition. That is, previously a particular set would take up a very narrow space on the shelf but now the exact same set would cover several linear feet, 4 or 5 boxes wide. No regular Lego sets, no Technic. Just a lot of the larger Creator models. It was surreal, bordering on dream logic. Y'know how sometimes you'll be dreaming about a certain place, and the dreaming-brain can't create all the graphics for enough unique items so it just fills in the rest with flat and repeating areas? (Or is that just me?) Yeah, it was like that. I tried other stores and they all seem to be running on the same dream logic. At least the Pick-a-Brick wall and Build-a-mini are unaffected.
I have a hankering for some country-fried steak. Absolutely unhealthy and I don't care. It's easier to find a restaurant serving that during normie hours, of course. I gotta do all my shit during normie hours. Almost all of it. At least I can get gas and convenience-store food at weird o'clock in the morning. Grocery shopping? I have up to about 11PM, maybe 12AM if I can get to a Wegmans. However! There's hear-tell of a grocery store being open 24/7 in my area. Or at least relatively in my area. More like, it's along my way to and from work. I haven't verified this directly yet because by the time I think about it, I'm already past the exit and can't be bothered to backtrack, and it's too far away from home to justify a dedicated trip. Night owl blues, yo.
Next anime convention I'm planning to attend: Katsucon. The only thing that could keep me away from that would be a massive snowstorm that hits right in the middle of the weekend. I'm not scared of anything else. Grrrr.
