(no subject)
Why why why why am I awake already?! Ugh. Couldn't fall asleep last night. I know it was well after 1 a.m. when I finally did fall asleep, and then at 6:11 this morning, I heard the familiar creaking of the door and the child padding up the stairs in her weeish bare feet. "Mommy?" I groaned inwardly. Were this a normal day, she could've come up and I would've gone down to be with them all when they woke up, but today is her friend Jina's birthday party. At 11 a.m. at Port Discovery in Baltimore. The punchline here is that I found out about this party yesterday afternoon at 2ish, and the whole bloody thing wasn't even confirmed until 7:45ish last night. :-o
So in approximately half an hour, I will stumble out of the shower, throw on jeans and a sweater, and pretend I'm coherent enough to be driving to Target this early to purchase a birthday gift for a child I don't even really know (Jina is her aunt's friend's daughter) and hope that it is acceptable to the weeish for whom it is intended.
"But wait, there's more!"
Yes, am taking D. to the dentist. Possibly at the same time as I take mine to Baltimore, but possibly not. Will have to see when the dentist's office opens at 8 or 9 this a.m.
"A nap! A nap! My kingdom for a nap!" Or an apple martini. (Yes, I'm that easy.)
:::drumming fingers::: Not a clue as to what to get this child. I'm supposed to call G. this morning anyway to cement drop-off location and time, so perhaps she has an idea, but I don't want to call her at 8 a.m. as I'm rolling into the Target.
