No more ill pets, please?
First day in Finland. My beloved baby Ruffe is ill. The vets are not sure what is wrong with him. A few days ago he completely started to loose his balance, could not walk straight at all and kept falling over. My dad took him to the vet. He either has an inner ear infection or a brain tumor.
If it is a brain tumor there is nothing that can be done. Ruffe will be 15 on the 6th of February and he's too old to be operated on.
He's been given medication for an inner ear infection and that has alleviated some of the sympotoms. He still walks more to the right, trips up some times and keeps his head tilted to the right at all times, but he's stopped falling over and can take normal walks again. It takes him much longer to go walkies now since he kind of wonders around like a drunk, but other than that he is back to his usual self. He begs for food, growls at me when I try to brush him, licks at bare feet etc.
Hopefully the rest of the symptoms will go away as well and all he had was an inner ear/balance center problem that is treatable. I can't take loosing my baby. So please send positive thoughts our way.
