happy new year! i have to say, there were not that many of my Denver peeps actually in town for new year's, so it was not as quality as my usual drunken ruckus with my home friends. but nothing really could be because they are just that good.

ok, so i shall play this game because Hieu tells me to.... it's called the "list 5 'quirky habits' and tell 5 more people to also list 5 of these 'quirky habits'"

1. i always use my parking brake. i don't even know why, i just do. i think it has something to do with the guy who taught me in driver's ed telling me to remember to do it when i parked. it sometimes causes problems when other people use my car and don't take off the brake. stupid habit.

2. this isn't really a habit, but it sure is "quirky!" i really really hate the sound of cardboard squeaking against other cardboard. for me, it's worse than pretty much any other sound, including fingernails on a chalkboard. this is one reason i hated working at blockbuster because we would always have to break down boxes, producing the sound of death! also i hated boxes of girl scout cookies squeaking together back when i was a small child whoring myself out to sell girl scout cookies and my mom was the girl scout troop leader aka dictator. and jenni used to fall asleep in my basement and my mom thought she had narcolepsy.

3. i don't like my food to touch on my plate, so i try to avoid that, and i also eat each item completely until i go on to the next thing. i used to really like those styrofoam lunch trays with the sections we had back in the school cafeteria, because then things didn't touch. except sometimes on taco day, when the lunch ladies would slop the taco meat too much and it would get on your fries. and then i wouldn't eat those fries.

4. this may not be that quirky, but i'm running out of things to say. i pretty much always sing along to songs that are playing if i know them. this applies when i am in my car, in my house, dancing in a club... sometimes i don't even notice i am singing along until my sister bitches at me to stop ruining the song. or at least she used to do that back when we would take family road trips and i would sing along to "foolish games" by jewel, really really loud. sometimes if i'm in the car with someone, i start rocking out and singing a song and they try to have a conversation with me and i only half have a conversation with them and keep singing in between sentences. that is probably very rude and i apologize if i have done that to you.

5. back in the day, i used to be superstitious about weird shit with basketball and volleyball and track. i mean, i used to have a routine for shooting foul shots and serving in volleyball and throwing shotput and discus, but that is pretty normal. but i used to get superstitious about random things like what i thought of during pregame meditation during basketball season (like i would try to always end my meditation with the same thought). i also used to be weird about when i washed my knee brace and knee pads. trust me, regardless of how much i washed them, they were extremely gross in general. but i didn't like to wash them after good games, only after bad ones. also, for basketball, i always had a specific thing where after warm-up, i would only take off my breakaway pants (you know we were cool with the shiny red breakaway pants), and not my warm-up shirt. i would only take off my warm up shirt when i was actually going into the game.

so... people to do this... i say that the following people should do this:
-rveybyloix
-sarcast_0
-matticusprime
-asswhypo2
-so_brooke_says

if they want to.

word. going to stop being a waste of space in the library and go be a waste of space at home. yup. i'm awesome when i have days off.
