Thank you all for your sympathy in my last post, I really appreciated it. A lot. He's my little love, even if he looks like he hates the world in that picture. That's his attitude, and I love it to bits and pieces. He thinks he's so tough, but he's such a big softie. He's my shadow. I actually had to make him a few beds so he'd have something to lay on while he "stands guard" (aka sleeps so soundly he snores, poor little love) in the doorway to whatever room I'm in. He's snoring away right now as I type this. I know he's 15 years old, but that doesn't meean I just have to accept this lying down. Oh no, because I refuse to do that. After I went through my little mourning period, which, thankfully, only took a few days; I picked myself up and marched myself right down to the vets office, notebook and pen in hand. They looked at me a little funny for taking notes but I don't care. I have a list of do's and don'ts, and I have started him on a new diet as well. I swear, I cook for my dog and won't cook for myself. Every night he gets a handful of dry food, a scoop of canned food and a butt load of hot water. That mixture is microwaved for a minute then left to sit for about 10 minutes while it soaks up the water. After that, he gets a scoop of cooked hamburger and some cream cheese or babyfood mixed in as well. Then I mash it all up and feed him on a piece of wax paper. His eyesight is really poor, and with his depth perception being off, bowls scare him a bit cause he can't judge where the bottom is. It's a rather tedious process, but he's worth it. I can't even put into words how much I love that dog. So anywys, he's on a diet specialized for his kidneys. All his treats were replaced with ones that had a low salt content. Do you know how hard it is to find dog treats with a low salt content? It was ridiculous! I went to three stores and read every single chewy treat bag I could find and only came up with a few. Urgh.
Another note to mention. I went to an exhibit at the art museum the other day with artwork from 1800-1815 during the Napoleon and Josephine period in France. It was REALLY awesome, and man did Josephine have skinny feet. How she ever managed to squeeze her feet into her shoes is beyond me. Also, love the fashion back then. And the motifs that Napoleon used are just fantastic. Managed to score myself a keychain that had a little pewter replica of his hat. SCORE! That makes 3 historic keychains I have now. One is a luggage tag from the Titanic, another is a poster advertising the Titanic, and now I have Napoleons hat. I like to put it on top of my head and pretend I'm amazing. My parents don't find that as amusing as I do but oh well, I'm the emperor of France dammit. And my keychains rock.
Also? While we're on the subject of Napoleon, I have to mention this, because it makes ME feel good. I have to take this stupid portfolio class to graduate, and the class requires us to go to three events and then write a journal entry about it. No biggie. Stupid, but no biggie. Anyways, I wrote mine about the Napoleon exhibit. And I finished it off mentioning something about the man who crowned himself emperor of France. Well.
This schmuck who peer edited my paper decided to write a little note at the bottom of my paper, saying that the POPE crowned him emperor and that I was wrong.
That didn't set right with me at all. So, me being me, I came home and double checked my facts. THE SCHMUCK IS WRONG! I AM RIGHT! NAPOLEON CROWNED HIMSELF AND JOSEPHINE! TAKE THAT SCHMUCK! Wiki and Napoleon.org or com or whatever says so, as do various other websites on the internet. The Pope was there and gave a blessing, but Napoleon put the crown on his head himself. Take.That.SCHMUCK!
Boy that feels good. I don't like to boast very often, but he made me mad dammit. Tried to make me feel like he was smarter than me with his little comments and such, pah! I WAS RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT!
Also? CAN'T WAIT FOR EASTERN PROMISES! Most of my long time pals will know why I'm looking forward to that. The accent will KILL me I'm sure. Looking forward to Appaloosa as well. Jeremy Irons just joined the cast which makes it even more better than it was before! (I know more better isn't proper, it's something I picked up from my dad, so please don't correct my grammar. I'm well aware it's wrong, it's just a family way of saying fantabulous.) Though Renee Zellwegger sort of makes me go "hmm". Because Renee next to my man and Jeremy Irons? Really? Just...doesn't fit.
