DO NOT LET YOUR EMOTIONS RUN WILD WHILE THESISING!!!

Uhh! I just realized that I accidentally deleted some useful data in a moment of careless dismay!

While in NOLA, I called up a prominent journalist whose info. I got from a source who claimed she was perfectly representative of New Orleans Uppest Crust speech. Upon calling her, I got her voicemail and therefore left a message.
A few days later, while I was in a bar and didn't hear my phone ringing, she left me a really dry, rude (from my perspective) voicemail that communicated that because she was stressed and busy beyond all comprehension as a result of having to cover Carnival season, I really ought not to have bothered her in the first place and shall not bother her again. She was sorry, but she had no time for trivialities.

I think it was then that I told my phone what I thought about her attitude (and her darn snootiness-- reflected in the way she spoke!!! ughh!!) and hit the delete key.
UGH. That was a good minute or two of data that I just deleted. Good, snooty speech at my fingertips (or earlobes, rather). And I didn't even realize it until now-- a month later!!!

No problem because I have an interview with a woman who is Uppest Crust NOLA (even though she denied it), but... ya know?
The lesson here: don't let your emotions get in the way of research! Resist the urge to do stupid things such as hitting the delete key under all circumstances!!! "delete" ought to be a nonexistent function in linguistics research!!!

*sigh* :P
