The Weekend...

...was lovely, and I don't just mean the weather. Those of you who read me regularly probably know that the last few weeks have been a bit difficult for me. Things have been working themselves out slowly, but now I am finally completely relaxed for the first time in a while. Anna had that great appointment with the therapist, and we had some good ( Read more... )

wow... your relationship sounds similar to ours. :) i think you may have started talking to my girl (stacy), but tell anna to add her as a friend on myspace or email her if she has any questions. stacy has been living full-time for almost two years now. let me know if you want her email if you dont have it yet.

I have been "talking" to Stacy a bit, mostly just reading her blogs. She is amazing! I don't have her e-mail or myspace, but if it is in her profile I will find it. Otherwise please do send it to me. I have kept Myspace separate from my LJ just because myspace is so trendy and full of silliness, but I KNOW Anna would love to connect with Stacy. She has lots of questions about HRT... and could use some general companionship too.

it sounds like you found a pretty good therapist for Anna. I'm still really glad that went so well. How did you find the doctor?

It's also good to see that y'all are communicating w/each other. You're right about habits forming in the brain - at least according to certain psych studies I read in undergrad. The mind can become addicted to the chemicals that are associated either w/ happy feelings or sad feelings.. It's a pattern that can be hard to break. I'm not a huge proponent of drugs either though, especially when I hear about all the medication troubles people have...I use St. Johns Wart to help when I start feeling down. It's an herbal supliment that's pretty well-known for depression related helping...no doctors, no perscriptions...One of my mother's friends used it w/her son who was Bi-Polar and it helped better than his perscriptions....the effects would be a case-by-case basis, but it might be worth a shot...

good luck w/ everything!

=) hey, thanks for the info from your psych studies, I thought I was on to something!

I actually found the therapist by posting on partners_of_tg asking if anyone knew of a good therapist in my area. Two people recommended the same guy, so I went to his website and was impressed by his writings. You might try the same thing. I was a little nervous doing it as I am trying to keep this blog relatively anonymous and have not shared my location in my profile, but partners_of_tg screens their members so I felt pretty safe. I have been thinking of revealing my location anyway since Anna and I both want to connect with people in our area.
