Title: 10 Songs meme
Focus: YunHo, JunSu
Word Count: 1300
Rating: G - PG-13
Notes: I am out of practice. This is even worse than when I tried to do it with YehWook.
1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Put iTunes or equivalent media player on random.
3. For each song that plays, write something related to the theme you picked inspired by the song. You have only the time frame of the song: no planning beforehand: you start when it starts, and no lingering afterward; once the song is over, you stop writing. (No fair skipping songs either; you have to take what comes by chance!)
4. Do 10 of these, then post.
01. Winnie the Pooh - the Disney Chorus
YunHo is obsessed with Disney movies. This is probably a result of spending far too much time with HeeChul hyung during their trainee days. It's surprising that he hasn't been given a Disney nickname by their imperious hyung, in fact. But JunSu thinks that if YunHo was going to be assigned a role, it would be Winnie the Pooh. "Are you telling me I'm fat?" YunHo pouts, when JunSU tells him this. The younger of the two laughs and rolls over onto his back, to look up at his hyung from his position with his head on his lap. "No, I don't think that at all. I just think you're very... innocent." YunHo blinks at him. "I'm older than you are." JunSu laughs, because he understands the implication there and disagrees with it entirely. "I think HeeChul hyung is right. You'll always be..."
02. Right Now - Bae SeulGi
It still surprises JunSu the change that overcomes YunHo when he dances. He transforms from the sweet, innocent little boy the younger of the two has known since their trainee days into something fierce, confident. And it's not surprising at all how girls are drawn to that charisma; JunSu finds himself similarly pulled into that YunHo's sphere. It's gratifying, in a way, being able to get at what most girls can only yearn for from the sidelines. YunHo doesn't dance with anyone except his bandmates when they're out clubbing. No one's ever really bothered to ask why. No one really cares.
03. Return - Shinhwa
They are watching Shinhwa sunbaes rehearse. JunSu, for all his energy, is still as a board, barely daring to breathe. YunHo, on the other hand, is squirming impatiently behind him, and the younger of the two has an inkling he is resisting the desire to try and imitate their dance moves. That is, if he hasn't learned the steps already. "Shh... They'll hear us!" he warns his hyung, and YunHo has the humility to look a little embarrassed. He is still for barely under two minutes, then JunSu feels him moving again. Rolling his eyes, he can't help the small smile quirking at the corner of his mouth. "Hyung..." MinWoo hesitates, head turning slowly towards the door, and JunSu slams it shut abruptly, in the process taking a step too far back and shoving YunHo to the ground. They stare at each other as the sound of footsteps approaches nearer, then dash off in a fit of giggles, hoping not to be and at the same time wanting to be caught. One day, JunSu promises himself, we'll be bold enough to stay behind.
04. Dangerous Mind - DBSK
The battlefield is a wasteland. YunHo's breath catches in his throat at the sight of so many dead and wounded around him. The stench of fresh blood is unbearable, moreso by the fresh sight of guts spilled to the ground in front of his eyes. "H-help..." A soft voice, barely audible, reaches his ears, and he turns, limping towards the sound. There are so many others crying out around him, but this voice is different from the rest. When he finds it's source, he almost throws up then and there. His body is in better condition than many of those scattered around them, but he looks so young that the first thought in YunHo's mind is, How are they going to tell his mother? "Hey... Hey, can you hear me?" YunHo reaches for the younger boy's hand, unsure of what else to do. "Hi..."
05. One More Try - Zhang LiYin
Four Seasons are having a rehearsal. Not with any of their own songs, not yet. But YunHo is putting as much work into the choreography as if it was his own. "What are you so worried about? They loved you last week, they will again this week." YunHo shakes his head, dismissing JunSu's words entirely. "I didn't like how I did last week. You heard JaeWon-sshi." The younger of the two rolls his eyes. One remark from Blackbeat's lead dancer and that's all it takes to get YunHo back into the studio. "So it wasn't your best, everyone screws up sometime. You were tired." "That's no excuse." JunSu stops trying to argue, because he knows there's no way to convince YunHo otherwise. After some time sitting, watching, he gets up to join him. "What are you doing? This isn't your choreography." "It's not yours, either. And I don't want to get rusty, you know. Maybe I'll show you up at the next test." YunHo sticks his tongue out at him, but the way his shoulders are loosening up is enough for JunSu to be satisfied...
06. Xi Huan Ni (Xi Huan Wo) - Huang Yida
It's quiet, almost deathly quiet, and JunSu doesn't know what to do with himself now that YunHo's brought him here. The beach... They always said they wanted to go, always talked about how fun it would be to play in the sand, swim in the ocean, let themselves be pulled away by the waves. But YunHo spends all his days in his office, studiously contemplating the meaning of life through mathematical equations. Well, JunSu isn't entirely sure that's what it is, but it's certainly nothing he's interested in. So he stays away, lets him work, and sits on the porch listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Sometimes he contemplates running out, running away, doing what they had planned to do together... Except on his own. Five days after their arrival, he's still there, listening to the sound of the waves and never giving into the beckoning call. On the sixth day, YunHo emerges from his office, takes a seat next to him on the steps, offers him a glass of lemonade. "I was thinking... Let's go surfing tomorrow." JunSu smiles, leans his head over against the other's shoulder. "Yeah. Okay." It wouldn't have been the same without YunHo, anyway...
07. Hug (Int'l Version - Chipmunk Remix) - DBSK
JunSu thinks YunHo's helium voice is perhaps the funniest thing he's ever heard. YunHo thinks JunSu's helium voice is perhaps the most disturbing thing he's ever heard. "If dolphins could talk, that's what they'd sound like." JunSu shoves him off his chair, and pouts. YunHo snickers behind his hand and pulls himself up. "You're the prettiest dolphin I've ever seen." Perhaps if JunSu was a girl, YunHo would have gotten the kiss he wanted. Instead, he gets the bowl of watermelon slices turned over on his head.
08. Holding Back the Tears (Fan Remix) - DBSK
He has no idea where he is, or even how he got there, but it's certainly not home, and he can't make out anything anyone is saying around him. It feels vaguely familiar, but every time he catches a word or a tone that seems all right, a string of jumbled sounds follows. The man with the narrow, pointed eyes seems friendly, has sat with him since he woke up. He feeds him, helps him...
09. Decalcomanie - Epik High
The world moves in a steady beat, and YunHo has always been good with keeping up. That is, until he meets Xiah JunSu, and the soundtrack to his life is suddenly moving in reverse. He knows he should be focused on his studies, knows he ought to be going over his notes at night and not spending his time watching horror movies in the dark, but whatever JunSu suggests always sounds like a good idea. There's also something very appealing about the prospect of the younger boy clinging to him, terrified. "YunHo~" he sing-songs one day, arms swinging around his friend's shoulders. "I have an idea~" YunHo rolls his eyes, but is on the inside excited about this new prospect. "What's your idea, JunSu?" "I say we should go... hanggliding." YunHo blinks, remembers his fear of heights, and promptly forgets about it when JunSu is sitting in his lap making doe eyes at him. "Well... If I die, I'm coming back to haunt you."
10. Greatest Love of All - YehSung
It doesn't matter what they say, doesn't matter what they think, doesn't matter what they want to do. All that matters is us.
