Autumn Updates

Autumn 2006 Backyard Leaf Round-Up Totals: 30 35-Gallon trash cans worth.  After that, I was able to mulch up the rest.  I use a blower to push the leaves in the front yard directly into the street for pick-up, so there's no count.  Probably a similar volume, but a much easier job.  Ground up the ones in the front flower beds with the leaf vac.

Thanks to Jason for his help with week one and my father for week two.

I was in Philadelphia last week on business.  During one of our meetings, one of the technology team guys was explaining why the interface software we're designing is layered the way it is.  Specifically, he was explaining that the guts of the code were in one layer while the business rules were in another.  The tech layer couldn't work in isolation because "We have no business logic." Offered after a pause, this is one of the funniest things I've heard in a meeting.  I'm sorely tempted to use it as the project motto.
