Prowl, Prowler, Prowlie?

Sep 14, 2009 00:50

This has been nagging me for a while, so please bear with me. It's only a little question, not a huge issue, but...

Ok, there have been so many fics that have Jazz using a nickname for Prowl, I was just wondering if any of them are canon or not? Is Jazz's use of nicknames even canon? (I don't have the DVDs, though I have 'em on a wish list, or I'd ( Read more... )

the only time i can think of that Jazz used a nickname on anyone that was just an obvious shortening (like taking jennifer down to jen) was the time he called Starscream "screamer".

I dont recall Jazz calling Starscream "Screamer"... which episode, do you remember?

I do know Skywarp called him Screamer, that episode uh... Fire on the Mountain.

I think it was Skywarp... I could be wrong though.

I'm not sure about the comics.

No nickname other than 'Bee and Screamer that I've seen so far is cannon. There might be some more in IDW comics but I cannot remember all. I know Prowl, though, doesn't have one. The first time I saw 'Prowler' was used in a fanfic by sakon76, dunno if someone else used it before her, but I've seen people use Prowlie way before that ( ... )

I'm pretty sure Prowl doesn't have a canon nickname. As for 'Prowler' and 'Prowlie'... I can see Jazz calling him the first, but not the second unless he was using it in a teasing way to just annoy Prowl or something.

He did say "Bye bye, Mirage-baby" in one ep, but I dunno if that counts XD

Ok I watched the episode. It WAS Skywarp that said 'Screamer, but they had a paint malfunction and colored him like Thundercracker. It was Skywarp's voice though. Just some general info for everyone. :)

I love how consistent the painting is. If you're not paying close attention you'll get a case of mistaken identity. Hahaha.

They tend to do that a LOT in G1. I think it's funny, though. For some reason they seem to miscolor the jets more than anyone else, haha.

I haven't seen the series in a while, but I think I may have heard 'Prowler' once. (I'm not sure if it was from Jazz though) There are no hints at any of the canon characters liking one another more than a comrade/friend other than the femme bots and their respective partners (also the thing between Powerglide and Astoria... it still kinda disturbs me)

I personally don't know where all the pairings originated from (like jazz/prowl hound/mirage), but it fits them for some reason lol ^^ There is an episode though that shows Inferno has a strong friendship with Red Alert, so I know where that pairing idea was born from ;)

Jazz/Prowl comes from the UK comics IIRC. In one of the mini black and white comics (something about prowl going back in time to ensure his and the seacons death maybe??? i read it a while back), Jazz was cradling Prowl when he returned. Not too certain if there was stuff prior than that, but it's the first ref i recall.
