Like everybody else I've got a dream...
I was going to go see Tangled last night with my best friend and her sister, but a blizzard struck and she couldn't get into town. :( I was quite sad. But since movie tickets are non-refundable and I had no desire to be out 40 bucks on a movie I didn't even see, my mom agreed to take me and my brother. (BTW, my middle brother is awesome. He's reading P&P, thinks Darcy and Mr Bennet are awesome, and he watches princess movies with me. And even better, he likes watching princess movies. I think the girls at school should know this about him.)
Anyway, we went to see it, and it was really great. I'm not sure if I liked it more than last year's Princess and the Frog (which I have serious love for), but I'm biased for PatF cuz it was 2D. But Tangled, my gosh, I don't know if it was cuz it was late and my day had been very up-and-down-roller-coaster-ish, but there were several parts that had me legitimately crying. The scene when all the lanterns rose up into the sky gave me chills, and the part after that with Flynn and Rapunzel in the boat was gorgeous. But I think my favourite part was the end showdown between Flynn & Rapunzel and the Big Bad. It was so intense, I forgot I was watching a cartoon. I thought it was incredible. FLYNN IS MY FAVOURITE EVER. Ahem. I'm totally normal and never a fangirl. Never. My favourite lines: "I am a despicable human being." and "You were my new dream." Cheese, but meh, I liked it. My favourite song: It's a tie between 'I've Got a Dream', 'Mother Knows Best (Reprise)' and 'I See the Light' (which is also cheese and reminds me of 'A Whole New World', but MEH.) The one bad thing I will say about it is that it starts out a little slow and all over the place. I was thinking, 'hmm, where is this going?' But then when they all got to the city and there was flowers and purple and dancing and purple and cuteness and purple, I was like, 'YAAAAYZZ!'
Walking out of the theater I said: "I liked it because there was purple and the man was a thief." Walking out of the theater my brother said: "They said the word satchel a lot." We are so articulate.
Now, I figure I'm gonna be on a princess kick (again) from here on in, and so that means that the time has come to post the Merlin icons I've been blabbing about. I left a couple out cuz I really didn't like how they turned out. There are still a couple clunkers on display here though. Please excuse the ridiculous B.o.B. lyrics.
