See if I ever agree to participate in a study again.
I got a call a week or so back from a group asking if I'd be okay with them sending me a dvd with a pilot of a possible new tv show on it that I would watch and then give them feedback on. I thought that actually sounded kind of interesting, so I said yes. I got the dvd this week, with instructions to watch it on Wednesday (yesterday) so that they could call and get my feedback on Thursday (today). I didn't mind having to fill out a little booklet beforehand with my preferred products out of long lists of brands. I didn't mind having to fill out an almost exactly identical little booklet afterwards. And I didn't mind watching the show. It was cute. I mean, it was yet another sitcom about a hapless and stupid guy with a weird family, which isn't really my preferred genre, but it was good within that genre. So, when a woman called today to ask me questions, I was kind of looking forward to sharing reactions. But no. This little dvd pilot had four commercials in it, and that was all they wanted to ask me about. The woman called at 4:45, and I didn't get off the phone until 6:00! That's over an HOUR of answering redundant questions about my reaction to commercials for face cream! About five minutes were devoted to the show itself. I was literally practically crying by the time the interview was over. It's my own fault for saying yes to anything that people offer over the phone, but damn.
