Dad?

Hey, what happened to the lab? Dad? Father?

Where is everybody? This isn't funny, guys...

Oh, man, I'm gonna be in so much trouble. I was supposed to be keeping an eye on Rock and Roll, too. Great, I bet they're going to destroy the place while I'm gone.

...Yeah, I guess. I can't find my dad's lab. Or my brother and sister, or my dog, and I'm gonna be in a ton of trouble if they start wrecking stuff 'cause I'm not there watching them.

Oh, don't worry, I can help you. Where are you now?

Um. It looks like some kind of...opera house, I guess? Big and old and stuff. Definitely not a laboratory.

Right. It shouldn't. Okay, opera, I know where that is.

Be in front of it, I should be there soon.

Yeah, there's some gates that I can't get through. I'm right by those.

Gotcha. Try not to destroy anything, okay?

Oh boy, this would be an adventure, wouldn't it? She got to the Opera house fairly quickly. Not quite sure what to expect.

She had her camera phone along, at any rate. "Ah, now where- Oh!" She spotted him pretty easily and walked up to him. "Hey.

Blues was doing his best "human" imitation, chilling and leaning against the gates as he tried to look somewhat inconspicuous. Between the sunglasses covering his eyes and the scarf around his neck, he was doing a pretty good job of it, and managed to look reasonably close to just another punk kid spending the day loitering.

When the girl walked up to him, he glanced up and managed a slightly guarded smile. "Hi, you're the girl I was talking to, right?"

She could tell right away how different he was acting. Especially when she walked up to him. There was just a different way he held himself, and he seemed suspicious.

Oh. That was why. "Ah- You don't remem-" Of course. A curse. That was silly of her. Even so, not everyone forgot their time in the City this time around, so why had he? "Mm. Yeah. I'm Hiyori Tamura." This wasn't as funny as she thought it would be, after all.

Okay, that made two people now who assumed he'd remember them. Something was fishy about all this, and it was making Blues edgy. It wasn't that he didn't think he could take care of himself on his own--he knew he could--but he didn't like it when everyone seemed to be in on the secret but him. He was the oldest son--he was used to having people tell him things.

Still, she was a human girl, and that meant he was supposed to be nice. Chatting it up with humans was more Rock and Roll's habit than his, but he'd been to plenty of scientific conferences and stuff with his family, so he knew how to behave.

"Hi, Hiyori. I'm Blues," he said, and offered his hand with a slight grin. "And I'm pretty sure I'm totally lost, so thanks for helping me."

Okay, he was being nice, but really nervous and out-of-place at the same time. Definitely really off, but it wasn't anything that she couldn't just pretend was normal.

And then he introduced himself. Ohgod. She couldn't laugh, she couldn't laugh, she couldn't laugh, she couldn't laugh, oh crap, she was laughing! She hastily turned it into a cough, hopefully passable. "Hi, Blues." That wasn't helping saying it herself, either. "Oh, you're welcome. It's no problem."

...Oh, great. Of all the people who could've turned up to help, of course it'd be his luck to get stuck with the giggly girl. Man, where was Roll when he needed her? At least his sunglasses would hide his eyes if he instinctively started rolling them. Dad used to chastise him about that, but Father would always just smile and say it was a perfect example of how humanlike he really was.

Man, he really needed to find them again.

Once the whole handshake formality was over, he went right back to stuffing his hands in his pockets and slouching a little as he leaned back against the gates. "So what's the big secret, huh?" he asked, watching her carefully from behind his shades. "Seems like everybody's remembering me today. Which is funny, 'cause the feeling isn't mutual."

Oh boy, he has no idea how lucky he is that she can't hear his thoughts, or she'd be on the floor in hysterics now. The eyeroll would be completely normal, of course, but oh boy is he lucky.

Although, she's really noticing that body language, Pro- I mean, Blues. "Mm, yeah, that sort of tends to happen in the City." The fact that he did have a different name was sort of calming to her, though. At least that proved it was definitely a curse and not just him forgetting due to the City. "But I'm sure that the memories will come back to you soon."

He almost wished he could just shut off his auditory circuits for a while. Well, he could've, anyway, but he was in a strange place and willingly depriving himself of one of his senses while in a situation like that was just plain stupid. Too bad he didn't have a filter or something. Maybe when he got back, he'd ask his dads to build him one--yeah, okay, something that would only filter out certain pitches and decibel ranges...

Still, now two people were suggesting that maybe he'd had his memory circuits wiped. But how could that even be possible? His dads would never let something like that happen. "So what, everybody knows me but I've never seen any of you before? I mean, sure, there's a city near the lab and everything, but I know it's not the same one. ...Did we come here for a scientific exposition or something?"
