recent happenings
Long time no update. I went to India to present at a conference, give university lectures, and do some preliminary fieldwork. In other words, it was a "working vacation," so while it was lovely, it was also tiring.
I spent this weekend in a cabin surrounded by snow and a forest, hanging out with Estonian friends and soaking up as much sauna as I could.
This is the week where I do All Of The Things before traveling to the US to defend my dissertation, get my tribal belly dance on, and present at ICFA. Then it's back to Estonia to wrap things up here (and go to Vilnius for a conference! excited!) and then, I just now decided, I shall be returning to the US in time to graduate in the spring ceremony.
Lots of logistics ahead, but I think I can handle it. I'll try not to be so scarce on LJ but, well, hopefully you can see why it's been this way and will likely continue to be.
