Book things

After scanning recommendations on Amazon.com for several days, I decided to read "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini next because it had been on nearly every page on the site.
There are about 4 full pages of praise from acclaimed writers and magazines and book reviews in the intro to the book.

I'm only about a third of the way thru with the book (having started yesterday, you can see its hard to put down). I think I have wanted to cry twice, but not in the good way. This book is disturbing. Some of the descriptives of the book have been: unforgettable, powerful, haunting, moving, beautiful, provocative, heartbreaking, unusually eloquent, marvelous, brilliant, gripping, evocative. I have to say I agree.

I think this is going to be one of the best books I've read.
