1. Angst
She knew she had done wrong. The moment she saw Nobu's face, the disappointment so clear and painfully obvious, she knew it. The way her heart clenched, and the rain... The way the rain wanted to leak from her eyes.
“Lluvia just wanted to prove that she was stronger,” she whispered, unsure if Nobu could hear her as he went to her rival's side, the pitiful girl curled up on the floor in terror before latching on to the boy. So kind, he was so kind to everyone. Had it been a trick? Lluvia gripped her chest, staring at the ground. Had everything about Nobu been a trick? Didn't he like her? Wouldn't he have wanted her to make sure that girl Hachiko didn't have a chance?
Still holding on to Hachi as he walked to leave Lluvia behind-just like all the others, they all left her-he paused. “You can't just hurt people because you want to, Lluvia.” His voice was so cold, so flat. And then he left her, because they always did.
Nobody wanted to be with the Woman of the Rain.
2. AU
The stage is not a place for mere mortals, and the band onstage do seem completely like gods. Lluvia wonders how this is possible. Her mind races along with her heart as she continues to watch this godly band perform, these Black Stones, and she wants to ask her date, her Gray-sama, how it is possible for the gods to exist but she can't. She can't look away from the man on the stage as he plays the guitar, and she can't understand why her mouth has gone dry, or why she has let Gray-sama's hand go.
And the man, the god, who plays the guitar like he was born to looks at her and smiles.
Lluvia thinks that she has died.
3. Crack
“Lluvia... Why are you stuffing so many hot dogs into your mouth?”
A muffled response met his ears as she tried to speak through a mouthful of food. Nobu's brow twitched as he stared at her. Surely she was going to choke with that many in her mouth. He sat down across from her, carefully pulling one of the food items from her mouth until she was easily able to chew without imminent death.
“The boy said that the more she could put in her mouth, the happier Nobu would be!”
Nobu choked on a dismayed laugh.
4. Crossover [Star Wars]
The snap-hiss of the weapon brought the young man back to reality, watching the red glare of the light flash around as one, two, three, seven of the attackers went down in easy procession, the woman wielding the weapon flowing as easily as water. He had to admit, he was terrified, a nothing guy like him up against not only a few thugs wishing to hang him be his entrails, but a lightsaber-wielding member of the Sith.
Because only the Sith had red crystals, and that was what he had been taught. Even if she said that she wasn't going to do bad anymore. He waited with his back pressed against the wall, watching her. He did have to admit... The way she moved...
Then it was over, her weapon disengaged and tucked back in the strap on her side, bounding over to him like a happy puppy, and he smiled at her, slow and crooked.
“She said that she would protect the young master, and she has!” As though she knew what he was thinking and how he was feeling, and then he reminded himself that she was a Force user, no matter what side she had been on.
With a sigh, he cupped her cheek, leaning in to kiss her forehead. “You don't have to prove anything to me.”
5. First Time
“Nobu!”
Startled, the young man missed a note in the song he had been playing, the guitar making an awkward noise in the progression of music he was creating, blinking up in confusion as Lluvia came bursting into the room. “Lluvia...” He blinked again before smiling brightly at her. “What's wrong?”
Her hands were behind her back, a small twist of her lips hinting at a smile she was attempting in return. “Lluvia heard that you were playing your instrument all day. S-so...” She ducked her head a bit, her cheeks turning pink.
“So?” He laid his babe across his lap, watching her expectantly.
“She figured that Nobu didn't have anything to eat yet...” Finally she moved her hands until she revealed the box that she had been hiding. “She made Nobu lunch!” Lluvia smiled again, an actual one that made his head feel light.
He really needed to stop this.
Stop this stupid feeling every time...
“You made me lunch?” Nobu leaned forward, glancing into the bento. His stomach growled. He patted his babe fondly before moving her to the side so that she was leaning against the bench he was sitting on.
“Yes.” Lluvia paused for a few seconds, staring at him in her quiet way until Nobu fidgeted and started to think that he had done something wrong. “She was wondering... Could they have lunch together?”
He smiled and patted the seat next to him. “I think this is the first time you've asked me on a date, Lluvia.”
The choking sound she made as she stumbled onto the bench was too cute not to laugh at.
6. Fluff
Nobu isn't sure how this happened, or why. He isn't sure that he even really wants to find out the answers to the questions, because then that would ruin the magic of it all. But he does know that when Lluvia tentatively places her hand in his, his body warms up a little and his skin tingles. And when she smiles at him, his heart begins to flutter. And when she looks genuinely happy...
Nobu knows that he's really in love, no doubt about it. Not like that time when that girl thanked him for drinking her milk so she wouldn't get in trouble, or when his first real girlfriend told him how amazing he was. No, this was the kind of thing that couldn't be described.
And when she hesitantly leans up, her lips warm and soft against his own, he wonders how she didn't know that she was the sun all along.
7. Humor
Nobu winced, for maybe about the twentieth time in the last half hour. Each time he showed the enthusiastic girl which string to pluck, she would forget to hit them in the right spot. Or that she shouldn't hit all of the strings at once...
He reached out slowly, not wanting her to feel bad. Good thing he didn't let her touch his babe. That would have been a disaster.
“This playing is hard!” Lluvia cried out when his hand touched hers. “How does Nobu do it?”
“I've been teaching myself to play for years. It takes a lot of practice.”
“But Nobu is so good! Lluvia doesn't think you need to practice at all.”
“Nobu needs to practice a lot.” Gently, he pried his guitar from her arms, swallowing a sigh of relief. “Why don't we try something like the triangle instead?”
8. Hurt/Comfort
She's crying, not that it's easy to tell with all of the rain falling around her, her own little cloud hovering high above. He's watching her from the shelter of a nearby tree, feeling disgusted with himself for not stopping them, for not at least trying to stand up for her when it was most important to do so. Instead, he listens to those older girls say things to Lluvia, mean and hurtful things as they goad her into trying to flee the school.
And he's really a pathetic little coward at heart.
She's alone now, and crying, bringing the rain down hard all around her, and he can't stand stand it anymore. It isn't right.
Nobu steps into the rain and jogs over to where she's standing, the raining soaking him immediately. He doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around her and pull her in tight, pressing his forehead against hers. She stiffens at first, and he knows that she's unsure of this, but she finally relaxes against him.
“Nobu is getting wet.”
“Don't worry about it.”
“She is sorry for making the rain...” And somehow he knows that she's not apologizing for him getting wet, but for the things the girls accused her of.
He just hugs her tighter.
9. Smut
Nobu backs her up to the bed, kissing her soundly until she has forgotten how to breathe even though they have gone through this plenty of times. She is lucky, she thinks, to have someone so kind, so thoughtful!, to have been patient with her. His mouth moves, and Lluvia breathes in deeply as though her life depends on it, and she can hear his dark chuckle before his lips press to her cheek and the spot below her ear that makes her want to stop breathing again.
They tumble to the mattress behind them, and they laugh before Nobu is back to sucking on her neck, and she arches against him, happily, readily. His hand is on her waist, hot against her cool skin while her hands play in his fine, blonde hair, travel along his neck and shoulders, her light touches knowing what spots to hit to make him shiver.
He undresses her slowly, and though they have been together like this quite a few times, he still takes the time to take in the sight of her. Where his fingers are, his mouth follows, and she wonders how she was the lucky one to get him. Her. Who didn't deserve this.
And then she flips him over and undresses him, taking the time to spend the same attention to his body, still the form of male perfection in her opinion. She likes that she can make him feel good, and she hopes he feels like she does when he touches her, like things make sense, even if she knows he doesn't think that she's the sun.
When they are both completely satisfied, Nobu holds Lluvia close, and they talk lazily about different things. Silly things.
It's Lluvia's favorite part.
10. UST
Lluvia is usually so covered up, that when Nobu comes upon the lake and spies her in the bikini, he has to do a double take. He knows that she's pretty, beautiful really, but this... This is not what he's expecting. Not what he imagined. Not that he thought about her!
Much.
They are friends, and he repeats that to himself even if his eyes are roaming over her mostly-exposed body and can't help but thinking that he wants...
“Is Nobu ready to go into the water?” She smiles at him, and he grins brightly in return, unsure if he even knows how to form any words anymore as he nods and swallows hard and begins to think about birds and sunshine and unicorns. Anything at all that isn't about Lluvia.
