I’ve been working on this Forum Software for a good 6 months on and off now. It’s slowly coming together though. If you head over to The Backpacker Forum you can check out my handy work. Now I didn’t make the ‘design’ I made the forum software which powers the site. eg: Allows you to post, reply, have fun, and do crazy shit.
Now I think it’s got a month or so of work left on it until it is a full product. My idea is to have a cut-down ‘free’ version and then the super Full/Pro product. Here’s my feature comparison ideas:
Free Version Includes
- Maximum of 3 forums
- No User System (Registration/Profile/Avatar/Statistic)
- Simple Search Functionality
Full Version Includes
- Unlimited Forums and Forum Categories
- Full User System (Registration/Profile/Avatar/Statistic)
- Advanced Search Functionality
- RSS Feeds for all forums
Thats all I can think of right now, but I’m sure there are a few other things. For say $30 USD for a license to use the “Full Version” I think it makes a worthwhile and cost effective upgrade. With the free forums you get something that will easily suit a blog, or small community.
