A/N: apparently I didn't post last week either (I remember now, I was quite busy with work, and while I did work out twice last week, I failed to post ... sorry)
Today’s strength training was suspiciously like a combination training session.
Warm up: squats, side lunges, reverse lunges. Go get heavy weights. No sissified weights, the heavy ones.
Circuit one: straight leg dead lifts with weights, hold weights at shoulder height, calf raises, drop weights, jumping jacks, pick up one weight, single arm hip thrusts, switch to other arm, hold weight in both hands, squats and raise weights to shoulder height and hold at top for two seconds, repeat. Drop weights, mountain climbers. Pick up both weights, stretch one leg back (sort of like a reverse lunge, except keep back leg straight), lean forward, bent over rows. Switch. Then get stability balls, drop weights, feet together, hip/bridges (squeeze the glutes), then back up, feet together, crunches alternating sides. RELAX. Repeat entire circuit (it’s a long one).
Circuit two: I think we ran out of time because there were so many exercises in previous circuit and we did them timed by Chris.
Conversations: This is the type of conversation we had today. What are you doing for the 4th? We’re enjoying that all American activity, shooting off illegal fireworks. Someone said: why do you shoot illegal aliens and why do you always bring up illegal aliens? I didn’t bring up illegal aliens, I was talking about illegal fireworks, but how it’s basically an American tradition. Oy vey. At another point, when squeezing our glutes, yup, we went right to squeezing our fruits … which went right to discussion of what types of fruits our glutes might represent (mine: watermelons, others: I don’t know). Sex conversation: I’m sure there was some, I can’t remember what it was (I’m still chuckling about a reptile dysfunction from two weeks ago, which I still think is funny, but perhaps was insensitive to the guys in the room … like I care). I have a whole Rudolph thing going on with my nose at the moment. Chris kindly pointed out that due to all the jumping jacks and other exercises, he had induced the rest of my face to turn red, hence, camouflaging the aforementioned nose.
I was not amused. Well, ok, I was. But I admit nothing.
We're off on Thursday and Friday (remember the fireworks), so no posting for rest of week. Unless I feel compelled.
Which I won't.

PS, I have loaded myfitnesspal onto my ipad and iphone ... and am trying to track foods and exercise. It's amazing how many exercises that Chris makes us do are not in the database! ok, it's also amazing how many are ... so it's very amazing.
