Today, when I said to Chris that the CT potatoes had showed up … he said, no, the sweet potatoes of CT showed up.
Awwwwww (and no Lynda in sight …).
But I digress. Pick up heavy weights (10s for Jaynie and Russkaya, 12.5s for me, because the Bear was slow in grabbing the weights).
Hold your weights to your shoulders and commence with squats. Drop one weight, do straight leg, one armed dead lifts. Then do hip thrusts (or frusts, as someone might say …) with the single weight. Next, drop the weight, do 10 burpees. Pick up the weights, do bent over rows (wide). Next do alternating push presses with weights. Next, get down on the weights and do mountain climbers on the weights (or floor, if it hurts your hands). Brief break.

Pick up both weights and do wide leg squats, holding weights down between knees. Next, extend one leg back straight and lean on it, lean forward and do single bent over row, stand back up. Keep doing it on that leg until told to switch. Switch. Raise the weights up in front of you, keeping your elbows wide and raised higher than the weights (this is harder than it sounds), then 10 curls (slowly, not swinging). Maybe we picked up the weights, did wide leg squats again, repeated the extend the leg back, lean on it and lean forward, do single bent over row, stand back up. This time with the raising weights up in front of you, use similar motion to push presses (bend knees a little to create momentum), raise weights in front as high as possible. Again, this is way harder than it sounds. Ten curls, slowly.
Strength training with 12.5 weights in each paw (in my case) is hard. But I got my second compliment in a year: my back leg extension, lean forward, single row was “the money” according to Chris. Wow. It’s going to my head, two compliments in less than a year. Holy smokes. We bears can be overwhelmed sometimes with such an abundance of goodwill … Actually, Jayne, in thinking about it and a few other things said to reflect on where I’ve come in nearly a year (my official anniversary date is February 14 ... just looked it up). Last year you were bitter; this year, you’re just negative.
And there you have it. I’ve gone from bitter to negative … ah, life is good. It’s pretty sad that my best social interactions are now occurring with regularity … three times a week in the gym. Maybe that should be a goal for this year … developing better social skills and spreading them around ...
Happier Bear
Helen, Dolores and Ruth, we missed the sweet potatoes of GT.
