enjoying..looking forward
I had a meeting tonight where everyone cut each other off and took over the conversation -- in a loving way. I was commended for "voicing [my] truth" as everyone explained why it was important to go with their spark and disregard the person who inspired them. On my end, it brought up power issues and reeked of disrespect. Quite a cultural experience -- my native culture no less.
Ambivalent about chasing the spark if I have to squash others in the process...
The talk by Claire this morning was great for challenging my idealism. 'Fuck policy: we need /to save/ the children now.' Okay, so I'm paraphrasing.. Class was wonderful. It'll be great to have T there. Looking forward to this quarter.
Looking forward to Sedona this month. I have some homework to do first. I just learned that there are a number of Hopi shrines there and have been referenced people to talk to re: Hopi cultural preservation, a documentary to watch and questions to ask of Dahnhak. Who's up for a documentary?
