2009.07.25 - Additional Horn
- Installed additional horn (from '93 Miata) and relay
I've been wanting to "beef up" my horn a bit since it seems that it's too high-pitched and not nearly loud enough to get people's attention. I've been considering a lot of options, but I decided that a good temporary improvement is to install the horn from the '93 in order to get double the power. Since I'm not sure if the stock wiring is up to the task of powering two horns adequately, I also installed a relay to power the horns. This will also come in handy if I decide to use some high-powered horns later, because now the car will already be wired for it.
The horn is definitely louder now, and perhaps more shrill, so maybe it will do a better job of getting attention from oblivious drivers. And best of all? It was FREE!
