- Fabricated and installed a "curtain" to cover stereo headunit display.
This was a project that had been bouncing around in the back of my mind ever since the cruise to Galveston last spring when the player began acting odd after extended direct summer sun exposure (see
entry). I took some of the leftover fabric from my ScanGauge covering and made a rectangular piece to cover the double-din head unit display. I attached a couple of buttons to the surround frame of the player using elastic string so that I can easily attach or remove the cover. The buttons are relatively inconspicuous when the cover is not attached because they sit along the top edge of the frame. It's kind of hard to properly describe, but it really doesn't look bad at all (or at least I don't think it does).
