$3.99 - Oil filter (Napa 1356 / Wix 51356)
I opted to go with a 1356 oil filter rather than the standard 1365 Miata filter. The 1356 is identical in all aspects except that it is taller, allowing it to use a finer filtration material in order to flow the same rate while filtering better. While I don't expect this to be a wholly tangible/noticeable benefit, it's not a bad idea. The other reasons for switching are that the 1356 is cheaper for some reason, and it is also easier to grab due to its longer length.
I'm planning to purchase a Derale oil filter relocation kit, Fumoto valve, and some Rotella synthetic 5w40 for my next oil change.
