I watched a full episode of Boondocks on the Cartoon Channel today.  It is interesting seeing how a guy who did comic strips deals with moving characters. It is fun seeing them in full colour on a large TV screen.  Their voices don't freak me out.   Anyways, at one point in the episode, Huey is called on to come up with a deep thought for his grandfather. He says this:

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.

It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.

Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquillity.

By Kahlil Gibrain.

I liked it.  I have been needing to think about this.  Maybe I should read more of his poetry.

I have 9 days left before 7 months in India.  Not looking forward to possibly flying halfway around the world without my battery-power discman, laptop, lip gloss, bottled water and moisterizer (malevolent elements  - all of them).

The American Sociology Association is holding its meetings in Montreal.  A friend and I were excited about attending it until we saw how sucky and old-school the program was: "New Perspectives on Family Change and Variation?".

So so so sucky.  I was hoping for different things from American sociology.

There is apparently some entertaining documentary on call centres in Delhi.  After 6 months in Delhi I guess all I can do is think back to one interviewee exasperatedly observering about how there is more to life in India these days amongst the youth than those call centres.  I mean...maybe it'll be charming.

Have discovered that the obnoxiously-named Radioclit is actually pretty fun music *sometimes* and it is playing on MySpace now.  What does this mean? I am feeling *this close* to getting a MySpace account. What does this mean?
