Ugh, some people have just made me feel better about how I voted in fandom March madness by messing up my friends list.
FMM has also made me vow, once again, to catch up with Miranda. I'm getting on that, honest.
Meanwhile, The Lying Game gets its own tag now, oh yes it does. I'm legitimately into it and was left wishing I'd started watching it from the very beginning by
the end of the episode. They've done such a great job on sympathetic!Emma wanting all the love that Sutton has taken for granted that it's time for her shady past to come back and haunt her. There was some nice foreshadowing (I still think Laurel's thought process of 'you shared your homeless secret with me, LET'S HAVE SEX, JUSTIN' bizarre, but she obviously thinks Rory Gilmore is cooler than her mom, which is the kind of wrong she'll just have to grow off. Also, her parents haring after her and finding her post coital on the foreclosed floor was ridiculous and hilarious for many reasons) because this guy was presumably The Guy Emma was talking about, and a jerk. So when there was the teaser about who was following her, I was half expecting it to be some guy from her past.
But no, it was Ethan, and if it isn't clear, I do so ship them. Even if I was smirking at the wish-fulfillment thing before (but his penchant for splaying his hand around her throat possessively is pretty swoonsome) their interaction in this episode where he had to make up for his bad behaviour of last episode, but was slightly distracted because he found her delightful sold me.
Oh, Thayer. Don't.
Oh, Annie. That's awful.
Sutton, I generally care about her so much less than Emma. I don't hate her, although she's an entitled princess (I can't hate on Mads and Char either), but there's generally something to make me sympathetic to her in princeple. This episode, the fact that her instinctive response to being locked up in a mental asylum (OH SHOW) was to call her parents - even though I spent a delicious portion of the show going 'and how is this going to end well?' - made me feel sorry for her.
Yes, the reactions to all the secrets and the confrontations are OTT, but I DON'T CARE at the moment.
Can't wait for the next episode and I want to see all the episodes that I missed. Who'd have thunk it?
