Nice to meet you, professor. I'm Riley McGranahan. Unfortunately, I won't be in your class. I wish I was, though. It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun with you.

Pleasure Ms. McGranahan. What a mouthful.
Yes, what a shame. Fun is what I'm all about. And truth.

My full name is worse. My mum thought it would be funny to give me three middle names. Riley Anne Sophia Marie McGranahan.

Good, then you won't mind that I have a tendency to be brutally honest.

How cruel of your mother, though your initials will be impressive.

I won't mind, in fact I endorse it. Speak from the gut, I always say.

Yes. R. A. S. M. M. Can't beat it.

Your gut? Don't you mean heart? And don't forget to use your brain at times too. No sense in expressing your opinion if you sound like a hick when you do it.

That could be the anagram of a really secret government operation. Or a whole 'nother name in itself.

No, gut. You have to speak from your gut, use what your gut tells you. The heart's okay too, but not the brain. Sometimes if you overthink you sound pompous and fact can get in the way.

It would be a great anagram, but as a name, it sounds kind of Arabic. Or perhaps German.

Right. You don't want to overthink, but you don't want to avoid thinking overall. A balance between all three is needed.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Arabic and German names can be perfectly nice too.

I suppose, but it never did me any good. Sometimes too much thinking can get in the way of the heart.

Yes, but I prefer good old Irish names. Italian names are alright, too. Sometimes French. I just don't like how Arabic and German names sound. They're so harsh, and have no flow to them.

Ah, well. To each their own. Thinking gets in the way at times, but it stops you from making a fool out of yourself.

Arabic names can be quite nice. Unless they're long and involved.

Exactly, to each their own. Unless it interferes with mine.
