30 Days of FE, Day 17 - 20

Apr 20, 2011 21:19

So, uh. The following days should all be pretty quick to answer because the questions don't really have that much for me to discuss, so I'll just go ahead and do them all in one go.

Day 17: Which stat is your favorite?
Speed, without a doubt. Double attacking -  and avoiding enemy attacks, for that matter - is more important than any other offensive characteristic.

Day 18: Best Storyline
Easily Radiant Dawn. Most other FE games have storylines ranging from "meh" to "decent", imo - it's the character development and interaction in the supports that make them truly great, to me.

Radiant Dawn is definitely a lot more focused on the main story than most other games in the series, which is really no surprise, given that the entirety of FE9 was basically spent on setting it up. Out of all FE games, it's also the most plot twist-heavy one, which I love because I have a soft spot for anything with lots of ridiculous plot twists. I can't help it. I tend to love them no matter how silly or unbelievable they are. Though, to be fair, I actually think RD handled most of them pretty well, so. The only one I have some issues with is what happens at the end of part 3, and that's mostly because it kind of throws away part of the fun political intrigue for god-killing time! (what is with JRPGs and gods, seriously), so the resolution doesn't feel quite as... satisfactory, I guess? But I digress. I still like RD's plot the most.

Day 19: Favorite Weapon
Err what I don't even know
Oh wait, yes I do

Holsety, for it's completely ridiculous stat bonuses. Would be a bit more useful if it weren't for the fact that the enemies in FE4 actually aren't suicidal and won't attack you if they know they can't hit you/you'll just ORKO them back, which is a problem since Levin Sety Arthur no i don't really think giving it to Corple is a good idea whichever character is equipped with Holsety is obviously going to be powerful enough to do so.

... which can be very problematic. I remember making Sety defend a castle from reinforcements once. Bad idea. None of them ever attacked him and I had to kill them one by one, which took more than 20 turns.

Day 20: Prettiest Cutscene
This one. Dramatic deus ex machina moment plot twist! And the GMs finally return! Squee fangirling forever ♥

(Linking the japanese version, because I'm kind of tired of hearing Mist and Rolf sound like 8-year-olds in the english version ugh. NoA would it really kill you to hire real voice actors? Or at least try picking slightly more competent persons next time you go offering random people on the street ice cream for voice acting in an FE game

Because I am completely convinced that's what really happened

I would definitely voice act for ice cream)

ice cream is great, 30 days of fe, video game, jugdral, meme, tellius, fire emblem
