All right, we left off on a cliffside, looking for Hinawa.
Instead, though, we find something else!
This is the game's first real boss: The Reconstructed Caribou.
Right now, Duster only has one of his tools, but I'll be using it to try and squeeze a few less actions out of the Caribou.
In addition to hitting reasonably hard, tho boss's music is in 3/4 and has a fairly erratic melody, making sound combos harder to pull off than usual...
...until I get a good feel for the beat, that is.
God, I love this game.
All things considered, this battle isn't particularly hard. It goes down after a few turns of merciless beatings.
Yeah, you'd better run.
Unfortunately, my pursuit proves futile once they get back to their spaceship, and make a speedy getaway.
The same strange music comes from their ship as came from the shadow of what Hinawa saw.
Either way, it looks like this was all a fool's errand. There's no way Hinawa could have come through here.
On the way back, though, we find this.

All the creatures around here suck. We need to make 'em cooler.
So the theme will be:
-Tougher!
-Rougher!
-Badder!
We'll mix and match this and that to create whole new things no one's ever seen before!
I dub it the "Fastinating Chimera Project". Let's reconstruct and modify stuff slowly and steadily.

Still empty-handed, we head back...

Going around and talking to everyone, it seems there's still no sign of Hinawa. After a while...

I'm not sure what to say... but just stay calm and hear me out.
I have good news, and I have bad news. Which do you want to hear first?
No... let me start with the good news first. I picked up a giant "Drago Fang". It'll make for a great weapon. I figured you could probably use it.
