Here's what the tech guys said (for Mac users)

 I called the people at the help desk for my college, and here's what they said.

Basically, they were pretty convinced that I could use a flash drive, as long as it was formatted for FAT32.  This means 32 GB or lower.

The Sims 2 Wiki also suggested redownloading every single bit of CC from the site, but you can see why I wouldn't want to do that, I think, aside from the fact that some of the stuff I have isn't available anymore.

So their suggestion?  Bootcamp partition, probably over 32 GB for the game files (MATY suggested 50 or 60); flashdrive for transferring files.

I like this solution, as it is the least liable to screw up my computer.  It's also the cheapest, which does not suck.

So I'll probably try this.  Soonish.  And when I do, I will let you know how it works.
