RULES/FAQ
STAY IN CHARACTER
This is kind of a given, guys. Don't be wildly OOC and make the character you're playing almost unrecognizable in comparison to their canon counterpart without any explanation whatsoever. However, also don't be afraid to experiment a little! Characters still have room to grow and change throughout the RP! Just don't go overboard, 'kay?
BE ACTIVE
Another kind of given, but don't app for a character and just sit on it. Interact with fellow students, don't just go to class and then sit in your dorm room all day! Meet new people, make new friends, get a job on or off-campus, or just explore! Play to your heart's content! Especially since there's no exact layout to the school right now (and probably never will be unless someone makes one), so go wild! Well, not too wild but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Every so often, once the community's up and running, there will be activity checks to make sure that people are exactly that. And the mods are watching you. *creepy eyes*
LEAVE YOUR WANK AT THE DOOR
Exactly what it says. Come on, guys, just be nice. If you have a problem with another mun, don't take it out through your characters. Either do it elsewhere or contact a mod so we can know what's going on. We're going on a three-strike-you're-out system. First time you cause trouble will be a warning, second is a temporary ban (depending on what it is, anywhere from two to four days) and the third is a full out ban. but come on, guys, we're here for fun. Don't spoil it for the rest of everyone, kay?
ORIGINAL CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME
Yup, we are OC-friendly! And, in addition, muns can have a total of two characters they can play, but only after they've been active for two weeks. But try not to play characters who have close links to one another. No mun-cest.
"PANGEA"?
YES, MEXICO-MOD MISSPELLED PANGAEA WHEN SHE MADE THE ACCOUNT. SHUDDUP.
But, yes; "Pangaea" is the nickname that students of ye old past endearingly called the headmaster of Hetalia University. No one remembers how it originated, or even what his real name is. It is a running joke that has gone on for so long that he responds to the name without a second thought. He's a rather large man, both vertically and horizontally (cough), in his mid-to-late forties, and has very wild short hair with every ahoge in existence. In addition to being the headmaster of the school, he also seems to teach most of the classes. No one knows how he does it. Don't think about it too hard.
CAN I APPLY AS A TEACHER?
So far, the idea is that only the ancients (Rome, Germania, Mama Greece/Egypt/etc) will be able to apply for the teacher position. Everything else will be taught by Professor Pangaea. Student teacher/assistant positions will open up, but not as of this moment.
WHAT ABOUT MATURE CONTENT?
A-OK. Yaoi/Yuri/Het -whatever floats your boat -is completely kosher with us. Our only requirement is that you post it under a lock and tag it as mature. This is so the younger members of the LJ community aren't traumatized and that every member of the comm knows what they're looking at before they click. And so we know where to look for smut--I MEAN WHAT.
WHAT ABOUT TIMELINE/GRADUATION?
Er. To quote or paraphrase from Ouran High School Host club, "for the purposes of this story, please ignore any and all graduations." Unless of course, you WANT your character to graduate. Then just let us know and we'll see what we can do. As for timelines, it's certainly not real-time. To put it simply, here's how nationcorp deals with it:
Have you ever seen a soap opera/DBZ? Well, it kind of goes like that.
eg. Regardless of the fact that a person was held hostage for one day in the show (or Goku only had 5 minutes to get off of the planet Namek) it took a month or two IRL to watch on TV, and as such, Thanksgiving decorations turn to Christmas ones even though the date in the story had not changed by more than a day or two (as you watched all of the sub characters talk for hours).
Basically, the timeline is based off of the events. So if the current event is week 6, all post after that, unless set in the past, would be after week 6. However, the date it is posted is the season we are in. So, it may only be week 20 of the RP that started in March, and it could already skipped to winter weather again. When you post, whatever season it is where you are IRL (winter, fall, etc.) that is the season it is in the RP.
And as a last note, make sure to post in the OOC comm when dropping a character!
