Weak weak weak woman; truly pathetic.
She covered her ears, as if that would silence the cruel words replaying in her mind. (shut up shut up it’s not true I can be strong as well!) Her fingers curled around her ears, her unkempt nails dug into the skin. Her legs ached. It pained her to look at them, for her legs were the reason she was in this predicament. (damn you it’s all your fault! If only you weren’t here!)
Her body shook with each hiccup. Her eyes were bloodshot behind her closed eyelids; her lips bled from how hard she had been biting them earlier -- she had nearly chewed off all the skin due to her anxiety. Her face was wet with tears, but she was silent with her cries. The only sound in the room was her occasional hiccup, and the rhythmic tapping of her feet on the cold floor.

“You’re not weak,” he had assured her.
She slowly raised her head and looked to him, but he was looking off into the distance, out through the window. His arms were crossed and his mouth was set in a fine line. He was ever so calm, so collected. He radiated strength. ("You're not weak.") And she finally closed her eyes, opened her mouth wide, and wailed. Her cheeks were stained with color and wetness, some of her tears dripping into her mouth and the others falling to the floor below, but he merely smiled and -- hesitated -- then patted her on the head.
