12 hour day
To help with my missing work on Tuesday I've been working some pretty long shifts. Yesterday I worked a 10 hour shift and today I was lucky enough to work a 12 hour shift. I know that some of you may say, "Michael, I work 10 - 12 hour shifts all the time. It's part of being a MAN!" or whatever but, honestly, I really don't care. It's great that you have no problem doing that. I have no problem picking up everything I own on a days notice, quitting my job, and heading out to Colorado only to get married/divorced in the span of two years...so what? You're ability to work an exorbitant amount of hours while still being wide eyed and content, while admirable and possibly impressive to your peers, means absolutely nothing to me. I really hope to not become a statistic and spend the majority of my time with people I care about and living life as opposed to working.
Anyway, tomorrow I only have to work another 10 hour shift then I will have the 5 hours of OT I originally intended to get by working last Sunday. After that I will finally have Saturday off and will then continue working on Sunday's to save money and go to Japan this summer to see what truly matters in my life...my girlfriend.
