[Oh, gosh.  How adorable.  Today, there is what looks almost like a lemonade stand set up outside 1448 Mitchell Road, complete with smiling, cherubic face shining forth underneath a large sign that reads . . . um.

WILL USE MAGIC SPELLZ TO IMPROOF LIFE FOR MONEE OR COOKIES

Whoever passes by will be treated to a little boy shouting:]

Heyyyy!  ( Read more... )

Hmph, if this town hadn't taken it away, I could show you what a real mage could do.

Yeah? You say that like I'm a fake mage, but I'm sure you don't mean it.

No, just young by the sound of your voice. I am sure you are quite good, although probably you have much to learn.

Besides, I wanted you to know I wasn't like the other one you picked off. Relm, was it?

Oh. Yeah, I am! And I wouldn't have as much to learn if this town hadn't taken a bunch of my magic, either. I've only got about half back.

Relm just thinks she's a mage, but she's just a girl with a dumb hat. What kind of magic do you do?

When it is active, I specialize mostly in lightning spells, although I'm quite adept at fire due to my Father.

And what does she do, that she considers herself to be a mage?

Oh. You should ask her. She makes pictures come to life or something dumb like that.

[SO JEALOUS]

I can do Thunder spells, too! Up to Thundaga, usually, but I've only got Thundara now. And I've got fire up to Firaga and Flare.

Hm... That is a fascinating technique she can use. I wonder what causes it.

[Not jealous, more curious. She then laughs a bit.]

It seems we have different titles for our spells. Some of my spells are Tesla, Deen Tear and Anthem. Tesla is the thunder spell of the group, Tesla is fire, and Deen Tear deals with wind.

Prolly mental problems.

[grumble grumble relm is my mortal enemy grumble]

No offense, but I think mine are easier to remember. Although it should probably be Lightning and Lightnin...ga.... but that doesn't sound very good.

Easier to remember, perhaps, but as you know, magic's ease or trouble comes with learning the spells, then recalling their incantations.

Uh-huh. A lot of people have problems with that, but . . . Learning spells was never much of a problem for me. I just had to get through a lot of boring magic theory in between.

[Palom is, no matter how bratty and obnoxious, after all, a prodigy.]

[Nei nods, though it cannot be seen]

Yes, that makes sense. It is not something easy for everyone. If this place ever deigns to return my powers to me, I'd be willing to show you some of my magic, if you'd show me some of yours? It would be fascinating to see what is probably another world's spells.

prodigious_mage February 7 2011, 04:50:33 UTC
Of course! I got to meet an archmage from a different world the last time I was here, but I could never learn any of his spells. It'd be neat to see any world's magic, though.

Last time you were here? Does that mean you have left before?

prodigious_mage February 7 2011, 05:04:02 UTC
Yeah. A few years ago. . . . Sis and I were here together.

thunderousnei February 7 2011, 05:05:04 UTC
Amazing... So there's some way out? Or was it merely as if the town itself had sent you back, then drew you again here?

Reply

prodigious_mage February 7 2011, 05:07:29 UTC
The second one. No one's gotten out by themselves as far as I know.
