It's been some time since I posted, so I figure I'll write a little note from my parent's house.
A quick note before I begin: I just won a game of Sorry. It's the first game I've won in two days. 2 hands of Uno, 3 hands of Spite and Malice, and a round of Pigmania, and I FINALLY win a game of Sorry.
Alright, back on track. Dinner was good yesterday, lots of turkey and sweet potatoes and salad and bread and pie. In fact, I am polishing off a piece of pumpkin pie as we speak. Er... as I type.
Things are good. I have a payment to the creditors on the 30th and then the Guitar Center fiasco is officially over. What a debacle that turned out to be. A word of advice; if you don't have the money to buy something, don't put it on a credit card. It will just come back and bite you in the ass. Seriously. I know it's a popular tune, but really... it happened to my brother AND to me, and it will likely happen to you, unless you have rich parents who will pay that crap off for you. So yeah. At least my credit score will improve once I get it all paid off. Then the only monetary obligations I have are to Hunter, and a small amount to be paid back to my parents.
Oh, and that semester at UCD I bombed.
Things are moving again with the band. It will be interesting to see how this incarnation will stand up to the tests of regular practice, the rigors of songwriting and the general emotional insability of some of its members. At least I have a way to practice. If you hadn't heard, I picked up a Roland TD-6 drumkit for $300. Even used, I've seen comparable kits go for around $1200 or so. It's in good shape, and I even got an extra pad. So that was a good deal. It's going to let me practice without having to make sure the neighbors won't call the cops, which happened twice at previous residences. Once we get some songs written, we've already got some people interested in getting us board for shows, so we really have to work hard at getting some songs together now.
To be honest, that's about all I have to report. I feel like oftentimes there's not much happening in my life, but I think there's some sort of calm before the proverbial storm happenening here. Hopefully the storm is not a bad one.
