I put on a Haydn string quartet today and enjoyed it. A lot. I must be getting old. In other nerd news, one of the professors in our circle of friends is still not back in the country. Someone is still covering the classes she was supposed to teach this semester. I doubt too much politics makes it into these courses, given the subject matter. But ( Read more... )

That all depends to what extent she supports the Palestinian cause, active support, monetary support, or just sympathetic support. I'm sorry if you actively support groups like the PLO, or even monetarily support them, your aiding terrorists.

If you actively support Bush, then I'm afraid you support terrorism in a number of ways... Sorry, that's my opinion.

Opinions are free and this is your journal :-) While I may not agree with all of his policies, I do what I can to influence the ones I can vote upon, and as the military says "Shut up and color" on the ones all I can do is abide as he is CiC. Do I actively support Bush? I wear a uniform 1 weekend a month and 15 days during the summer, and went to Afghanistan to fight the Taliban and help bring peace and modernization to the people there, I vote pretty liberal though, pro-choice, pro-alternative religion, but the situation is still the same, sending money to terrorists like the Palestine Liberation Organization, is still sending money to terrorists.

I basically agree with you...but with the PLO (and, more to the point, with regard to people who support the Palestinian cause without having direct ties to terrorists), I think it's shaky ground when we label certain people terrorists and then don't apply the term at all to certain others...

I understand completely. Being Irish American I support a free Ireland, but I won't be sending money or aid to the IRA or PIRA. I agree it can be very shaky ground to include someone as a terrorist or a supporter of terror who might not have direct ties, hence my part about the 'extent' of her support, and I completely understand about applying the term to others, you know the saying about one persons terrorist is another persons freedom fighter, I guess in the end it depends on who lands on their feet and gets to write the history books.
