application system

This past year has been mostly about college applications for me. I mean, when people asked me what I was doing while on MSN, chances were i was either playing Yahoo Pool or working on those applications. It is funny though, cuz these apps are so easy to lie in, i mean the admissions officer has no idea who you are, for all they know you could be the next basketball superstar and all you have to do is say that in the little boxes provided to explain your ECs.

Ok, so just to set the record straight, I DID NOT LIE IN MY APPLICATIONS!. 120% of the things I said were true, and I did not try to embelish anything. Now, agreed, maybe your teacher that writes a recommendation for you might point out that you are a "compulsive liar" in which case maybe you'd lose some credibility, but still, I mean you can make yourself a living god to these people and all you have to write is a couple of embelished sentences.

I guess my point here is to say that I would like to have this application process being placed in countries like Mexico or Brazil; places where people lie for a living. I mean, colleges would end up with like 20,000 students that met the president of the USA because of their outstanding grades and behaviors, and some 15,000 that claim that they set foot on the moon, right after singing the national anthem before the highest authorities. Are americans really that honest? Way to go for setting such a system in which people can lie, but dont feel confortable enough to do it, whoever made up the application system is a smart guy, masochistic nevertheless, but still smart
