Torchwood - Children of Earth Day 1
Now I stopped watching Torchwood quite a while a go. (I *think* it was the blowfish driving the convertable around Cardiff that finished me off, though sucessfull therapy has got me past it now!)
However, I am tired today and in need of some good old RTD crack, so I figured, 'what the hell' and watched Part 1 on my dinner hour.
When did Torchwood get, well, good?
Obvious spoilers below!
Now I knew about Tosh and Owen dying but I have no idea how really. Just what I heard in DW Journey's End so can anyone fill me in please?
I'm not really in the position to give much discussion or speculation so I'm mostly just going to point out the bits of dialogue that I liked and who said it as the program progresses, K?
"You're Torchwood!"
"Never heard of them"
Am I wrong in remembering this or did they used to have "Torchwood" down the wing of the cars? He looked in that general direction before he asked tooo!
Gwen - Now I've always liked Gwen and she got some of the best lines in this ep
"What's occurin?" Utter genius!! RTD gets a cookie for pop culture reference! :D
"Oi, you two. You gettin up to Shenanigans in the dark?"
"Hey, chuckle brothers" *snerk* :D
"Christ. Enough that you're a couple, now you have to talk like twins?" hehehe
Awww. Martha's on her honeymoon! :D
"Ohhhh.."
"Ohhh My God?"
"What's in there?"
"Big science fiction superbase. Honestly" :D
I love the interaction between her and Rhys
"What do you think caused it?"
"Can't say, Top Secret!"
"You haven't a clue have you?"
"No idea"
"Oh God, the Severn Bridge! I'm going into England! Farewell forever!"
"Have you got currency?"
"Yes, and I've had my injections"
Hahahahahah! I have Welsh friends who do this everytime they come to see us! :D :D
Ianto's sister is brilliant! The whole scene was done really well. The hesitancy between them and the vulnerability they both portrayed really quite touched me. And then the truly comedy lines!
"You're a civil servant! They don't work weekends. They invented weekends!" *snicker*
"You were seen in a restaraunt"
"Said he was gorgeous. Like a film star.....or an escort...."
"Have you gone bender?" ( I nearly snorted tea out of my nose at that!) :D
"Mischa's hearing this!"
"She doesnt' care. She's got a friend with two mothers!"
"It's not men. It's just him!" Awwwww!
"Alright, I wont' say anything"
"Aye aye gay boy. Hear your taking it up the arse!" Hahahahahahah! :D
Bit of a surprise with Jack and his daughter. Is it just me projecting or do they kind of look vaguely related?
"You make us feel old"
"Actually, I found a grey hair!"
"Well, that is the end of the world!"
"Ohhh, you bastard!"
"That's why I want you to stay away! You're dangerous"
Half of me thinks 'ouch! Poor Jack' whilst the other half of me agree's with his daughter. I'm more of a Jack from DW fan than Jack from Torchwood though! On reflection though - Why's she living in Cardiff? That is not a Welsh accent! Daddy issues much?
Back to Gwen;
"You know what I think it was? Aliens!"
"There's no such thing!"
"Those days are long gone!" I love the smirk as she say's this. :)
"What's that thing?"
"The technical name is a gizmo" :D
I love the gentle hand touching. The delicate tapping, initiating a sort of comforting contact without being too graby.
"You're pregnant, I can smell it!" Not at all creepy that! o.O
Oooo..poor Jack! I wonder if he ever gets used to it? Totally did not see the squeaky clean doc being the bad guy! (No really. I know it comes across as sarcastic but I really didnt'!)
"He was dead"
"And now he's dead again. We'll keep killing him till he's ready!" Ouchie!
Hahah, poor Ianto gabbing on to himself whilst being completely ignored by Gwen. Bless!
"They kill you?"
"Yeah"
*walks forward and gives him a hug* Awwwwww! :)

"Yeah"
"That's good isn't it?"

"From where I'm standing, it looks good to me"
"Yeah. Blood hell! It's brilliant!"
"Ianto, we're having a baby!" :D The smily Ianto face too. *snuggles him*
"Have you told Rhys?"
"I've only just found out myself"
"You told me before you told him? Oh he's going to *love* that!" Hehehe
"Congratulations! Would now a good time to tell you I lost the car?"

Is Jack going to morph back together a'la the cyborg thing from T2? Is this, infact how he becomes the face of bo? Only his head is left intact (if slightly charred hence bo's dreadlock appearance"
I think I'll have to wait till tomorrow dinnertime to watch it again on iPlayer as I'm out tonight! Though I am quite looking forward to it! :D
