Merry Christmas or Happy [insert choosen winter holiday here]....

Yeesh. Loooooooong-ass couple of days flist. Loooong.

Also for those of you who don't know. We refer to my Dad's parent's house as "going to Grandma's" and going to my Mom's parent's house as "going to Gia-Gia and Papa's"... Okay. Confused yet?
Those of you new to my flist might be a bit curious as to why. Well here's the thing... Christmas Eve is at my Dad's parents house, Early Christmas Morning is here at home and the whole rest of Christmas Day is at my Mom's parents house (which is filled with the crazy-ass people)...
Well this year got crazier than usual...
So yeah, did I mention yet here that my cousin Missy (the one who just got married in August 2007) and her husband Jason are expecting a baby now. Yup my younger cousin (by one year) is preggers. We only found out a couple weeks ago but the baby was a major discussion topic and gift receiver this Christmas at Gia-Gia and Papa's!
So now let's review.
Go back to Monday when I practically disappeared from LJ again.
Like I said in the previous post Dad's truck didn't want to work so I drove him to work and then later went to pick him up. My uncle's ex-wife died on Monday (My dad's brother's ex-wife. Whom I NEVER liked). And I finished my Christmas shopping on Monday. Watched NCIS episode "SWAK" and Angel episode "Smile Time" before bed!
Yesterday (Christmas Eve)
Got up sorta late-ish but we still got the food ready and got to Grandma's house by about 1:30pm. Fixed the rest of the food (mostly sandwich fixings and salads). My cousin Amanda and her husband Mike and my cousin Mike Jr were all over at my aunt's house cleaning out the house while Amanda was in town to help. (They pulled 8 bags of straight up garbage from just the living room!) My folks, Acathla, Grandma and my Uncle sat and watched "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" on TNT and then we watched most of "It's A Wonderful Life" on NBC. Mike Jr, Amanda and her husband got finally came over to Grandma's at about 7:30ish to open presents. Got "PS I Love You" and the 3rd "Twilight" book- "Eclipse" and a couple other things but those were the awesome ones. Came home at about 10:30 or so.
Watched NCIS episode "Twilight" with commentary. Bones episode "Santa in the Slush". And most of "City of Angels".
This morning here at home.
Woke up only about 30 minutes later than planned but Mom was still finishing up a few casseroles to take with to her parents house. Got an AC/DC fabric poster and an AC/DC DVD from Acathla. Got "Bone Key," "Tales of Beetle the Bard," "Third Watch:season 1," Buffy Paley Best Buy disc, and a load of "Twilight" stuff (Books: 1-"Twilight", 2-"New Moon", and 4- "Breaking Dawn"... Also got an Edward bookmark and the "Twilight" soundtrack.)-- from my folks. My sister Acathla and I also got a few joint gifts. two nail polish kits to put pretty designs on our nails AND Mom got tickets for Acathla, me and her to go see RENT again, on Acathla's birthday in April. SO AWESOME! Also got a stack of DVD's for the family to share, including WALL-E which was on my list.
Got ready and left for Mom's parents house slightly late. got there at about 9:30am.
Gia-Gia and Papa's House. (The rest of today.)
Had breakfast and coffee, while every finished waking up and catching up on their Christmases so far. Opened stockings a tradition we've had there since I was little.
Got a "Wicked" 2009 day planner, a Barnes & Noble giftcard and a couple T-shirts from my Aunt Becky and her family.
Got the nice fleece-lined hoodie (from Walmart's Black Friday sale), a $30 Speedway FUEL card, a 2GB USB drive (which I know nothing about), and some other clothes from Gia-Gia and Papa.
Got a phonecall from Mike (my friend from college who took my flying a couple summers back) while we were opening presents and my phone was in the bedroom. Haven't gotten to talk to him since like July! Called him back left a message. Listened to his voicemail-laughed-then played back the voicemail for Acathla when she asked what was so funny.
Called spikess left her a voicemail too.
Went and helped with fixing dinner.
Then I called another college friend, Troy, and talked to him and his Mom for awhile. Troy and I chatted about "Leverage" for a bit. Even though I haven't talked to him a awhile he started watching it just like the rest of us! He likes it too! We had a wonderful discussion about Chris' acting, the episodes so far, the vids I have posted here on my LJ and me sending him links to the vids and stuff next time I email him.
Anticipated phonecalls while we were eating and didn't wanna miss another call from Mike, so I took my phone with when I went downstairs for dinner.
Ate, listen to people get bitchy, then mid-dinner the phone rings! Of course. Didn't even look and the caller ID and excuse myself from the table and raced up the basement stairs to get a good signal because without looking I knew it was Mike. I was Right!! I missed my Mike!! Talked to him for about 12 minutes upstairs before I had to regretfully excused myself and went back to dinner. But I went back to dinner smiling and happy at it got me through the rest of the night!
Both my youngest cousin Sammie (who's now like 16) got snippy during dinner and Acathla got crabby after dinner. ME being me I played mediator and keep things from blowing up some with Sam and when Acathla got upset I took her upstairs to calm her down.
Mom felt sick-ish (congested and coughing) yesterday but it went full-blown today while we were eating dinner. So after dinner she hung out on the couch with one of the dogs.
Helped clean up. Visited some more. Looked at old pictures for awhile. Helped Missy and Jason pack up their presents to take home. Looked a a few more old pictures with Mom and Acathla.
So back on Mother's Day, Mom got this 'Cricut' scrapbooking machine-thing. She got two more cartridge things for it for Christmas and we decide to go play with the machine a bit since Mom storage it there for our Craft nights there. Play with it and took picture of my creations that I did not paste together yet.
Came home around 8:45 tonight. Took the garbage out for the morning pickup. Almost fell on the ice-rink formerly known as the driveway, like 4 times! Listed my gifts received in my notebook, read part of Chapter 1 of "Twilight" and got online to type this up at like 11:30pm. Got distracted by MASH, Acathla and IMs so this took a long ass time to type up but here we are. Updated up to right now December 26th at 1:15am.

Injury list for me over these same 2 and a half days....
*Stubbed toes on both my feet, today.
*My bad knee has been alternating between hurting and locking up since like Saturday.
*My Knee and back hurt from carrying thing up and down the stairs all day.
*My messed up shoulder hurts from holding my arm twisted backwards to hold a bag upright all the way home tonight.
*And I'm still kinda congested and coughing (it started back up late last night after having been mostly gone for like 3 weeks).

"...Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!" Happy every other holiday as well! I celebrate Christmas so that's what I say when I generalize it to everyone unless I know a difference. SO Happy Hanukkah to those on my Flist that celebrate those '8 Crazy nights'!! If anyone else here on my list has actually read through this a celebrates something other than Christmas or Hanukkah, lemme know I'd love to learn about what you celebrate. As for spikess I know it's different with you but "Merry Christmas" doesn't offend you or your holiday. Besides we talked about it the other night...
