Maya had her first boyfriend...and the related boyfriend issues too!
There is a boy in Maya's class that likes her. Likes her so much that he wanted to kiss her and make her his girlfriend. Maya doesn't like him that way and doesn't want a boyfriend ("Boys are yucky! Except for Daddy..."). T (the boy) was calling her his girlfriend. She wasn't too thrilled with that but wouldn't say anything. I told her that if she doesn't like it, she has to say something.
Today, she came home and had "great news"! T said they weren't boyfriend/girlfriend anymore! Chris and I were a bit surprised since we didn't think they were boyfriend/girlfriend in the first place...but apparently T was telling people that. Today, though, he decided he didn't like Maya anymore like that and didn't want to be boyfriend/girlfriend anymore.
I was sad that she was the one who got dumped instead of standing up for herself first. I asked her how she felt about not being the one to break up. She said that she was fine with it because she didn't want to hurt his feelings and this way, she got what she wanted too, which was NO BOYFRIEND!
My little girl is just awesome...even if she was dumped in her first relationship...which wasn't really a relationship on her end anyway.
