Blaaaaauuuuugh.

Friday evening, after work, Brian and I were playing Rock Band, and in the middle of a set - we'd just finished one song without any problems and were starting another - his guitar won't deploy star power anymore. Just like that. Nothing happened between the previous song and the song it quit on (I had it around my neck the whole time, never dropped it or heard anything break, etc.), it just... stopped working.

Saturday was frustrating; we went to WalMart for my optometry appointment and it lasted THREE HOURS. Most of that time was spent sitting around waiting for the people working there to figure out how my insurance works so they could tell me whether it would be cheaper to put my insurance toward glasses or contacts. Brian gave me my Valentine's Day gifts (flowers, chocolates, a teddy bear with candy hearts tied to him, and a necklace... I thanked him profusely but reminded him that chocolate makes me break out ;P)... and his gift was going to be a wireless guitar in return, but WalMart didn't have it.

After going out to get the wireless guitar we decided we wanted to try dinner at Red Lobster... but that place was packed (to the point where people were parking in the middle of the lot), which was disappointing... so we came home to just veg. At one point we decided to play some games, and my Xbox controller wouldn't work (battery had died even though it was off)... and later in the night, the actual Xbox remote control we have (as in, looks like a real remote) stopped working. I made the joke that technology was just breaking all around us.

Wake up Sunday morning to a dead computer.

The hard drive on which Brian runs RAID to separate our Windows installation from all of our junk just had some random error. After hours and hours of research, Brian finally started to get it working again. He spent all day trying to get it to work (all except the few hours we went out to Red Lobster for dinner; we were seated immediately!), and by bed time he finally has the comp in some sort of working order. We shut it down for the night...

... wake up Monday morning to a dead computer.

Ate some Frosted Mini Wheats (new tiny ones in chocolate flavor) and head off to work... where I proceed to be violently ill shortly before lunch time, so I decide to take the rest of the day off. Come home, nap, be sick again, nap some more... decide to get up and do some transcription files (since we didn't get to over the weekend between Val-day and comp dying)... turns out the link we had saved to get to the file downloading site is on the dead desktop. So even though I wanted to do something constructive, it's a no-go.

I KNOW I got Brian to knock on wood when I told him the other day "we have a lot of bills and problems but I'm thankful we're currently in a situation where we can pay for them and get through them." I guess I just should've gone with my gut and not said anything at all; now I just feel like running around the house like a maniac and ripping out all of my hair. Rawgh!
